I am doing a brief study on the impact of oil prices on public
transportation fares across the Europe Union. As a non-belgian citizen, I
would be grateful if someone could answer the following questions:

1. Has the recent rise in oil prices had any impact on bus fares in Belgium?
2. Do Belgian city bus fares have a maximum limit established by the
government,*or*are*companies*free*to*set*th eir*fares?

Thanks,
Mark

The bus system in belgium is mostly owned by the government.
The politicians set the rates of the fares.
Because of this the tax payer has to pay up all the losses. We have
even free busses for the eldery! Guess who has to pay for this...
