A continuing delay in the Turkish Stream energy project stems from factors in both Russia and Turkey, Energy Minister Taner Yıldız said Aug. 4.

“The pipeline project to carry Russian gas to Europe, with Turkey as a transportation hub, was caused because the Russian side was late in delivering the coordinates for the construction route, and because of talks to form a new coalition government in Turkey,” Yıldız said.

"How hypocrite is your president as he advocates democracy and lambasts the military coup d'état in Egypt," added Putin, "And he simultaneously condones all terrorist activities aimed to overthrow Syrian president."

The Russian president continued by saying that his country won't abandon Syrian legitimate administration and will cooperate with its allies, namely Iran and China, to find a political solution to Syria's interminable civil war which descended the 23-million Arab nation to an utter ethnic and religious anarchy.

Turkey’s foreign minister says its air bases have begun hosting US aircraft and drones and that soon it will launch a “comprehensive battle” against Isis militants.

Speaking at the start of a meeting with the American Secretary of State, John Kerry, Mevlut Cavusoglu said there had been movement on the ground since the two nations agreed to an anti-Isis alliance late last month.

The ministers have travelled to Kuala Lumpur for a summit of the Association of South East Asian Nations, where Kerry is also due to meet with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov.
