Taalkundig
of rekenkundig (US-auto-industrie-maatstaf)? Officieel of officieus?
Sinds de 13 juli 2023 is de vakbond UAW officieel ermee begonnen. Dat is dus nipt 2 maanden.
Maar "het protest" is al langer bezig, hier - link 7 juni 2023 - spreken ze van een 100 days countdown:

UAW MEMBERS BEGIN 100-DAY COUNTDOWN
June 7, 2023
In 100 days, *contracts expire* for 150,000 autoworkers at Ford, General Motors, and Stellantis. UAW members are gearing up to win big for working class communities across the country.
This contract fight will be the UAW’s defining moment as the auto industry transitions to electric vehicles. We’re setting a new standard, and members are united in the fight for our core demands:
Ending wage and benefit tiers that divide workers
Bringing back cost-of-living-adjustments (COLA)
Job security when companies are making record profits
Building a sustainable future for workers who build electric vehicles
The Big Three have made a quarter of a trillion dollars in North American profits in the past 10 years, while autoworkers still endure Great Recession-era wages and benefits. UAW autoworkers saved the auto industry 15 years ago and were never made whole.

Hoezo nog 100 dagen countdown?
Enkel bij GM was er in 2019 reeds een 40-dagen-staking, en toen werd er een 4 jaar-deal overeengekomen
die september 2023 afloopt:

GM strike ends after 40 days with 48,000 staff to return to work
Strike that started 16 September cost GM more than $2bn
The four-year deal – which will serve as a model as the UAW negotiates contracts with Ford and Fiat-Chrysler – includes 3% base wage increases during years two and four, and an $11,000 bonus upon ratification for full-time employees. Temporary workers will receive $4,500. Under the proposal, GM will invest $7.7bn in US factories, the Detroit-Hamtramck plant will be saved from closure, and temporary workers will be given a path to permanent employment.
