En het bereik dan, die Lilium jet zou met inzittende minder wegen dan het batterijpack van een model S (dus gewicht personen+vliegtuig+batterij < 500 kg), en toch een bereik hebben van meer dan 300 km. Waarschijnlijk gaan ze er de facto van uit dat de energiedichtheid binnen een aantal jaar met één grootte-orde gestegen is.... nodeloos PR-gestunt dus.

De grotere afstand speelt voorlopig weinig rol dat komt nog.
In Dubai gaan ze er alleszins vanaf juli mee vliegen, wel een heel ander type luchttaxi.

The taxis, able to carry a single rider and a small suitcase, could launch as early as July, according to the New York Times. The eight-rotor drones, made by a Chinese firm, have already been making test flights.
The drones can fly up to 31 miles and have a top speed of 100 mph. They would typically operate at 62 mph, the Times said.
A video promoting the craft depicts a man boarding, buckling himself into a harness and then typing his destination on a touch screen before taking off, the Times said. The video describes the drones as autopiloted, directed and monitored from a command center.
