9/10 dat het 1 en dezelfde batterij is, de 75 kWh batterij, die ook bij Model S basis gebruikt wordt.

? Dat kan niet omdat Model S heel andere batterijen heeft, deze nog met electrolyt, ook kleinere in 18650 formaat, overigens nog geïmporteerd uit overzee. Tesla Model 3 heeft de solid state Li ions formaat 2170(0). Een S is qua bodemplaat ook veel breder dan een 3 enz...

Ook qua eventuele software-vrijgave heb ik deze keer gegronde twijfel, want anders zou er amper gewichtsverschil zijn tussen basisrange- en longrange-versie, het gewichtsverschil is namelijk 120 kg, lijkt me enkel voor de wat zwaardere E-motor (steeds achteraan) teveel van het goede.

Opmerkelijk, ook de gewichtsverdeling schuift 1% meer naar voor! bij het long range pack, alhoewel de long range zeker een zwaardere E-motor achteraan! heeft te zien aan de betere prestaties ondanks 120 kg Standard Battery...

Ik ben nu wel nieuwsgierig... het is namelijk zo dat het batterijpack van het model 3 uit 3 modulen opgebouwd is, het zou zelfs kunnen dat het basisrange-batterijpack dan maar 2 modulen ingebouwd heeft in het batterijpack...:
Redenering:
basispack: 2 modulen ?* 25 kwh= 50 kWh
long range pack: 3 modulen ?* 25 kWh = 75 kWh

Dit is ook een vereenvoudiging in productie. Buitenvorm, afmetingen en (temp-) management van het batterijpack is idem, maar er worden maar 2 modules in gemonteerd.

Hypothetisch: als men het voorste bvb dwars gelegen module in het batterijpack weglaat en de 2 langs gelegen modules overhoudt verschuift de gewichtsverdeling altijd naar achter, door de lichtere E-motor - altijd achteraan- van de basisuitvoering is die tot 1 % beperkt gehouden, afhankelijk hoe die 2 resterende modules in het batterijpack verschoven en gemonteerd kunnen zijn.

During a press briefing on Friday, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said that the 2170 cells, which were designed by both Tesla and Panasonic, were more energy dense than the cells in the Model S and Model X.

The bigger cell size also enables fewer cells per module and fewer overall modules. Musk said that there are only 3 modules in a Model 3 battery pack compared to the Model S’ 16 modules.

Beyond the cells themselves, the location where they are being made is just as important. The Model S and Model X cells are also manufactured by Panasonic, but they are made in Japan.

The Model 3 cells are manufactured at Tesla Gigafactory 1 in Nevada, where they can directly be put into Tesla’s battery packs and shipped a few hundred miles to Fremont, California. That’s a significant simplification of the supply chain.

Though the supply chain for Model 3 remains complex with about 10,000 unique parts, the battery cells are arguably one of the most important parts based on volume and weight. The shift also results in the vehicle being more American. Musk said that roughly 60% of Model 3 parts are made in the US and 70% in North America (adding Canada and Mexico), while only 30% are made overseas.
