BMW kontert Tesla mit Elektro-3er

Tesla hat an der Börse mit BMW gleichgezogen und greift mit dem Model 3 den Bestseller der BMW-Modellpalette an. Die Münchener kontern und wollen auf der IAA eine elektrische Variante der 3er-Reihe präsentieren.

Laat me zeggen, ze kunnen niet anders. Al is het vijf voor twaalf, want wslk kunnen de eerste Tesla model 3 pakweg einde 2018 in Europa al te zien zijn... Uiteraard kan iedereen die zijn Model 3 gereserveerd heeft nog zijn bestelling afzeggen. Maar om nog enkele jaren langer te wachten op een BMW E-3? Ik denk het niet.
Auto Express had dan in nov 2016 toch gelijk toen het gecamoufleerde BMW-3 opmerkte onderweg,
en suggereerde dat het mss concurrentie kon zijn voor Tesla model 3:

2018 BMW 3 Series spied testing again
Exclusive images and spy shots preview new 2018 BMW 3 Series, which could come with a Tesla rivalling all-electric model
The next BMW 3 Series has been spotted by our spy photographers again, this time showing a car with bodywork closer to what we’re expecting of the final production model.
The latest spy shots show changes at the front with a new front bumper, possibly similar to the one used on the recently revealed 2017 5 Series with three separate air intakes. The headlamp and kidney grille arrangement looks similar to the one on BMW’s larger saloon too, even though it’s still hidden underneath masking.
Around the back the latest 3 Series mule has sprouted a chunkier rear bumper, and the car’s production taillights are hidden underneath Zebra print.
The next 3 Series will make use of new carbon-fibre construction techniques, meaning it’ll be a much lighter car. While it’ll be offered with a range of new three, four, and six cylinder engines, as well as a hybrid option, a new all-electric model is a possibility too, meaning the 3-Series could take on the Tesla Model 3.
