Russia to regard Belgian strikes in Aleppo as support for Nusra if no criticism follows

"We expect the US-led coalition and Belgium, in particular, as well as all the international institutions to give an adequate response," the ministry's official spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said.

According to the diplomat, if no direct condemnation follows, Russia will consider the airstrike a step to protect the Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist group (outlawed in Russia).

"It cannot be otherwise. If no direct condemnation of strikes by the coalition, by the Belgian Air Force follows, we will have no option left other than regard everything that is happening now as an attempt to preserve bandit groups in Syrian territory," Zakharova said.
