Soon after perestroyka, he went into private business, becoming one of the earliest big businesspeople in Kiev. He founded the Pravex Group (Ukrainian: Правекс, an abbreviated from "Law, Economics and Sociology"). Later the banking division of the Pravex Group rose into the Pravex Bank - one of the largest banks in Ukraine, possessing a dense network of offices in Kiev and other regions. In 2001, Chernovestkyi and his bank founded the "Kiev Bank Union" banking association. Pravex Bank was sold in 2008 to Banca Intesa São Paulo for 509 million euros. Chernovetskyi has acknowledged giving millions in bribes during his days as a businessman.


Chernovetskyi is the leader of the Christian Liberal Party of Ukraine.[23] He joined the party in 1996 and was elected to the Ukrainian Parliament, the Verkhovna Rada, representing one of Kiev's constituencies. He was reelected in 1998 and 2002.


On 3 August 2011 it was reported that Chernovetskyi has secretly left Ukraine and moved to Israel. According to Agence France Press, he was discovered by a crew of Ukrainian television channel 1+1 in an apartment in Tel Aviv. In a brief statement, Chernovetskyi, who was surprised they had found him, called it "an unofficial holiday".[45] It had been reported earlier, that he has held Israeli citizenship since 1994, having run for president and for Kiev mayor while holding dual Israeli and Ukrainian citizenships in violation of Ukrainian law, which does not allow its citizens to hold dual citizenship.

Chernovetsky Buys Himself A $1,000,000 Rolls-Royce

Some local VIP types are continuing to act with that quiet good taste for which they’ve become famous, and chief among them is Kyiv Mayor Leonid Chernovetsky. ‘Cosmos’ Chernovetsky, so named for his spacey demeanor (which has long generated unsubstantiated rumours that he’s a user of controlled substances), has just purchased himself a new car in which to drive to work: a Rolls-Royce worth a cool million dollars.

This, in the middle of a crippling world economic crisis that’s hitting Kyiv particularly hard, leading to job lay-offs, runs on banks (including, perhaps, the one that Chernovetsky owns, Pravex), plunging real estate prices, serious inflation, a damaged national currency, hoarding of food in some cases and suffering on the part of pensioners. In this case, the old saw applies: not all bad times are bad for everybody. Chernovetsky is said to have bought the car from a local Rolls dealer, so we can at least give him credit for buying local, and you can probably find it parked in front of the City Administration offices on Kreschatyk if you want to take a look. The mayor, a devout evangelical Christian who’s probably the most prominent member of the Embassy of God, the local ministry led by charismatic Nigerian-born pastor Sunday Adelaja, has had an interesting history with expensive cars. For years you could see his Maybach, worth a reported $900,000, parked in front of the Pravex headquarters in Pechersk. It was arguably the most famous car in the city, although as mayor he turned it in for a Mercedes reportedly worth $700,000. And in 2003, an elite car in which Chernovetsky was riding hit and killed a man here in Kyiv. No charges were brought against Chernovetsky. Reports have it that Chernovetsky’s new Rolls has a top speed of 240 kilometres per hour, which will make it easy for the statesman to roar down the Khreschatyk sidewalk at high speed. That distinctive silver front grill, meanwhile, will guard the precious machine against any potentially damage done by the bodies of pedestrians. A Rolls is typically a gas-guzzler, but who’s counting litres? What’s interesting about this exercise in consumption is that Chernovetsky is a banker – and not, say, a prize-fighter, drug-addled director of violent blockbusters, coke-dealer or lead guitarist. One wonders why anyone would put his or her money into a bank run by a man who drives a million-dollar car. Another question is this: how is it that New York City’s Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who’s much richer than Chernovetsky, manages to take the subway to work, as he famously does every day? But those are questions for another time. Right now we suggest that the Mayor continue his adventures in restrained elegance by buying himself a canary-yellow pimp suit complete with a hat, kind of like the one Snoop Dogg wears in one of his videos, along with a diamond-encrusted walking stick, purple ankle-length mink coat, six or seven massive sapphire and emerald rings, a platinum name-plate and several prominent gold teeth.

For Ukrainian Jews, success can be considered a dangerous thing. The large number of Jews on a list of the 100 most influential Ukrainians has created a mixture of pride and anxiety in the country's Jewish community.
About 20 of those who made it to this year's list are Jewish. The list is published annually by Korrespondent, a Russian-language Kiev weekly.
Jews make up no more than one half-percent of Ukraine's population of 47 million, and some fear the overrepresentation of Jews among the country's business and political elites may strengthen anti-Semitic stereotypes.
"In the eyes of the public, this can create a wrong impression that Jews in Ukraine are very wealthy and the Jewish community is prospering," said Ilya Korchman, a Jewish pensioner from Kiev.
Yet Ukrainian Jews have a reason to celebrate, he said: The heavy Jewish representation on the list "is a result of the many talents of Jews, who are really influential in Ukraine." One Kiev Jewish activist and researcher agrees.
"Ukrainian anti-Semites will use this list for their propaganda purposes," Alexander Nayman said. "And at the same time, the good people will have more respect toward Jews."
The general public hasn't seemed to pay much attention to the preponderance of Jews on the list. Instead, many focused on the fact that for the first time in four years, Ukraine's president didn't top the list.
Business tycoon and lawmaker Rinat Akhmetov, believed to be the wealthiest man in Ukraine, moved up to the top spot from fifth place last year. He replaced President Viktor Yushchenko, who was second this year.
The shift is being attributed to the changing nature of the Ukrainian elite, where business leaders came to play a more prominent role after the 2004 "Orange Revolution" and subsequent political turmoil.
"Business is taking political power into its hands," political expert Vladimir Malinkovich told JTA.

All the Jews but one on this year's list are business leaders.

- The highest-ranking Jew on the list is Igor Kolomoysky, 42, a co-owner of the Privat business group that has interests in the metal and financial sectors. Kolomoysky, who was eighth on the list last year, moved up to the sixth spot.
- Viktor Pinchuk, 45, another Jewish business tycoon and son-in-law of former President Leonid Kuchma, was ranked 12th on the list, the same as last year.
- Eduard Shifrin, 46, president of the Zaporozhstal steel holding and co-chairman of the Jewish Confederation of Ukraine, was ranked 87th.
- One of the Jews whose influence fell after the Orange Revolution is Yevgeny Chervonenko, 46, former minister of transport and communications who now serves as a regional governor in eastern Ukraine. Chervonenko, who is vice president of the United Jewish Community of Ukraine, slipped from 27th to 89th.

The only Jew on the list who is a not a member of the country's business elite is Rabbi Ya'akov Dov Bleich, 42, who ranked 62nd.
Ukraine's longest-serving rabbi, the Brooklyn-born Bleich has lived in Kiev since 1989 and has been chief rabbi of Kiev and Ukraine since 1990. Bleich appears on the list for the fourth year in a row, but his authority has been somewhat undermined over the past few years by the election of two other chief rabbis of Ukraine.
Bleich is the only non-Christian cleric on the list.
A longtime Ukrainian Jewish leader, Josef Zissels, was among 20 experts from different fields on the board that helped the magazine compile the list. [link]

The new President of Ukraine, Viktor Yushchenko, has appointed multi-millionaire "dual citizen" Yevgeny Chervonenko communications minister. The 45-year-old holds an Israeli passport and is vice president of the All-Ukraine Jewish Congress. As communications minister he will exercise complete control over the development of Ukraine's media. His department will issue all operational and frequency licenses for radio, television, Internet and satellite communications.

After privatization, Chervonenko gained control of a variety of businesses, including two large bottling plants, supermarket chains and a pharmaceutical firm. In 2004, in an interview with the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, he complained of "anti-Semites" in the opposition coalition, noting that he accosted one of them, Vassily Chervoni, in a washroom in the Parliament building. Chervonenko said, "I put his head in the sink and told him, 'One more bad word about Israel and I'll really mess you up.' "

(Chervonenko was head of candidate Yushchenko's security detail, and bragged to the AP that he personally tasted all of Yushchenko's food when asked about the alleged poisoning. He blamed the poisoning on the "anti-Semitic" opposition who fed his man during a private government meeting to which he did not have access.)

YELLEN APPOINTMENT ENSURES CONTINUED JEWISH DOMINATION OF FEDERAL RESERVE AND UNLIMITED MONEY PRINTING

In the midst of the staged theatrics surrounding the debt ceiling and government shutdown, the Obama regime recently announced that Janet Yellen the current Vice Chair at the Federal Reserve would be replacing Ben Bernanke as its chief starting in 2014. It was fairly easy to predict that Yellen would be the next Fed leader considering the non-stop media propaganda promoting her as Bernanke’s successor. How many stories did we hear from some teleprompter reading goon proclaiming how great it will be for Yellen to be the first woman to lead the Federal Reserve? In this world of manufactured media hype it seems as if they are programming people to be more preoccupied with someone’s gender, race or sexual orientation than if an individual is best qualified to do a job. One could argue that this might be acceptable if they were consistent on this topic but they are actually incredibly inconsistent. One thing the various whores in the corporate media aren’t talking about is the fact that Yellen taking the helm of the Fed will ensure the continued Jewish domination of this institution. Yellen not surprisingly is Jewish like many other individuals that are in positions of great influence at the Fed. Considering the corporate media’s obsession with diversity, it is interesting to see why they aren’t questioning the lack of diversity at the Fed which has been heavily influenced by Jewish interests throughout its history. The explanation for this is obvious since Jews also dominate many key positions within the corporate media. There is very little chance that any of these so-called news outlets would willfully expose the many lies and scams that have originated from this tribe.

It is a historical fact that the Fed was primarily created by powerful and wealthy Jews with Jewish bankers like Paul Warburg heavily involved in the process. Despite the fact that Jews represent roughly only 2% of the American population they continue to dominate many of the important positions within this organization today. Both Alan Greenspan and Ben Bernanke are two Jews who have combined to lead the Fed during the past quarter of a century. Even more ridiculous is the fact that the most serious of candidates to replace Bernanke were all Jewish. Besides Yellen, other candidates who were considered for the post included Larry Summers, Donald Kohn and Stanley Fischer. Fischer would have been a particularly insane choice considering his status as a dual Israeli citizen and the fact that he was actively involved in a Zionist youth movement as a child.

Bronfman Group Buys Time Warner Music

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Time Warner Inc. (TWX.N: Quote, Profile, Research) on Monday said it would sell its Warner Music business to a group led by media mogul Edgar Bronfman Jr. for $2.6 billion, in a move to trim the media group's debts and signaling a return of the former Seagram chairman to the music business.

The Bronfman group beat out a bid by EMI (EMI.L: Quote, Profile, Research) for the recorded music portion of the business for an estimated $1 billion.

By choosing the Bronfman bid, Time Warner is forsaking $250 million to $300 million in cost savings it could have realized by combining with EMI, home to such acts as The Beatles and Radiohead. Warner Music artists include Madonna, Led Zeppelin and R.E.M.

On the other hand, Time Warner is getting more cash up front by selling the entire business, which includes the music publishing company, and will have an easier path to regulatory approval. In the past, European and U.S. regulators have frowned on consolidation within the music business.

Bronfman's team, backed by some of America's biggest private equity houses including Thomas H. Lee Partners, is betting it can slash costs and turn Warner Music around ahead of a comeback in sales, a major challenge in an industry currently in decline.

Bronfman has had long ties to the music business, first as a songwriter for the likes of Dionne Warwick and Celine Dion, and later as head of Seagram when he bought entertainment group MCA from Japan's Matsushita for $5.7 billion. On his watch, the renamed Universal Music bought Polygram, creating the world's largest record company.

Bronfman merged his family's entertainment empire with France's Vivendi three years ago, only to see the family fortune disintegrate. When Vivendi put its entertainment assets on the block earlier this year, Bronfman led a group to buy the assets back but was ultimately outbid by NBC.

Hit by rampant piracy and competition from other entertainment such as video games, music sales are expected to fall for the fourth year in a row in 2004.

Earlier this month Sony Music (6758.T: Quote, Profile, Research) agreed to merge with Bertelsmann AG's (BERT.UL: Quote, Profile, Research) BMG.

Hi Jeff - I am Jewish and I take exception to some of the articles you post on your site. However, this particular article is staggering in its implications. It is said there are less than 15 million Jews on the planet. Most of us...and I know a lot of people... are kind, normal and not megalomaniacal in our approach to life. When someone of ANY religious or political persuasion reads this story and then also factors in the dominance of Jews in finance and the economy, government, science, the medical profession, the legal profession - in fact all the professions - one has to come away pondering how such staggering influence has been acquired by such a microscopic percent of the world's 7 BILLION people. For ANY group to wield such power clearly and obviously injects profound bias and skewing into all areas of a nation so dominated. Is there a Zionist/Jewish bias in Western society and especially the US? Is grass green? It is often whispered that Baron Rothschild really owns and controls Great Britain. It is reported that 7 of the 8 oligarch/gangsters who control most of Russia are Jews ...probably hard core Zionists. (Maybe Putin is trying to prevent a total Zionist takeover of Russia with the Lukos oil magnate's arrest?) And then look at the Zionist Jewish near domination of the Bush administration (no coincidence, that) and the more than one trillion dollars the kindly American people have given to Israel in 'loan guarantees'...not a penny of which has ever...or will ever... be paid back. Obama targets pro-Putin Jew Oligarchs

On Thursday, Barack Obama imposed sanctions on several leading Russian oligarchs in response to Vladimir Putin’s action over Crimea and Ukraine. However, the joke is that most of the pro-Putin oligarchs targeted by the Israel-First Obama administration – are Jewish.

“This is not our preferred outcome. These sanctions would not only have a significant impact on the Russian economy, but could also be disruptive to the global economy,” Obama said.

Included in Thursday’s target list were Jewish oligarchs and officials who are not only close political allies of Russian president Putin, but long-time associates and his best friends. For example, Yuri Kovalchuck, reportedly Putin’s personal banker, Vladimir Yakunin, head of Russian Railways, billionaires Boris Rotenberg and his older brother Arkady, Vladislav Yuryevich Surkov, former Russian deputy prime minister, Sergey Yurievich Glazyev, Putin’s aide and author of 40 books, Leonid Eduardovich Slutskii, member of the State Duma of Russia, Professor Andrey A. Klishas (Moscow University), Ukraine-born Valentina Ivanovna Matviyenko, the highest-ranking female politician in Russia, and former governor of Saint Petersburg and the current Chairman of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, Dmitryi Olegovich Rogozin, former Russian ambassador at NATO and Yelena Mizulina, a member of the Communist Party.

On March 20, Tom Cohen, in an Op-Ed at CNN called Obama’s sanctions against Putin’s supporters ‘kosher’.

The other known Russian Jew oligarchs are; Alexander Abramov (steel industry), Roman Abramovich (banking), Vahid Alekbarov (oil and gas), Boris Berezovsky (media), Leonard Blavatnik (oil, aluminum, etc.), Vladimir Bogdanov (oil and gas), Anatoly Chubais (electric power), Oleg Derpaska (metals), Mikhail Fridman (banking, construction and energy), German Khan (oil and gas), and more.

Obama’s announcement of travel bans and asset freezes of 20 Russian oligarchs and officials was met with a Cold War-style tit-for-tat retaliation by Moscow, which announced its own blacklist of US politicians, including House Speaker John Boehner (Jewish), Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (married to a Jewish woman), Sens. Dan Coats (Jewish), Robert Menendez (AIPAC’s hit man on Iran), Mary Landrieu (Israeli poodle) and John McCain (an Islamophobe), State Department’s Victoria Nuland (Jewish) and some members of Obama’s White House team, for supporting the anti-government protests in Kiev.

Meanwhile, Russian consumer industry is making fun of western (US, UK and France) sanctions with candy and muffins.

Putin has very good relations with leaders of Russian Jewish communities. He seems to have support from several American nationalist leaders like Pat Buchanan and Dr. David Duke.

“Vladimir Putin is a blood-and-soil, altar-and-throne ethnonationalist who sees himself as Protector of Russia and looks on Russians abroad the way Israelis look upon Jews abroad, as people whose security is his legitimate concern,” says Pat Buchanan.

“The truth is that Putin in attempting to defend Russia from the power of the Jewish supremacists – is in effect, defending all Americans, and all people everywhere who cherish their freedom and heritage. He is Russian rather than American, but his heritage is far closer to the American people and our interests than the Jewish supremacist misanthropists,” says David Duke.
