Standaard Libertas : Think UKIP is the answer in Brussels? Think again. Watch UKIPOCRACY

London, May 21: In a video sent around Europe today, Libertas - the pan-European people’s movement for a democratic, accountable and transparent European Union – exposes the hypocrisy of the UK Independence party. UKIP’s message of cleaning up Brussels is in direct contrast to how its members operate. Instead of fixing the problem, UKIP has become the problem. During the past European parliamentary term, a full quarter - 25% - of UKIP MEPs were either convicted of fraud, expelled for the same reason, or resigned in disgrace.

Declan Ganley, Chairman of Libertas said “Libertas is a pan-European campaign to reform Brussels, so we can offer people a real voice - not just a protest - at the election. UKIP, who has just 1% of seats in the European Parliament , say one thing to the voters in the UK and then line their pockets in Brussels. Our principles are simple: only elected politicians should make the law, we must be able to hold Brussels to account and the European Union has to provide better value-for-money. What is more, unlike UKIP, Libertas has stood up to Brussels before and won.”

UKIPOCRACY can be seen on the Libertas You Tube channel:

Libertas.eu is a pro-European movement committed to bringing more democracy, accountability and transparency to European Union law-making and institutions.

In June, Libertas-backed candidates will run across member countries of the European Union for the European Parliament elections. Libertas.eu seeks to have the European voters’ mandate to reform the EU. This is the first time a pan-European party will contest the European elections.
