Turkish police round up Al Qaeda-linked Syrian Al Nusra terrorists in raids in Istanbul and southern cities near the Syrian border, Turkey police Friday arrested 12 members of al Qaeda’s Syrian affiliate, Al Nusra Front. Found in their possession were four and a half pounds of sarin nerve gas, hand guns, grenades, bullets and documents for what the Turkish daily Zaman reported was a bomb attack on the Turkish town of Adana. The Israeli intelligence news report quoted above contradicts the authoritative memo of the US intelligence community. It refutes the assessment of US intelligence which allegedly provides evidence of Syrian government forces using chemical weapons against the rebels. It was on the basis of this US intelligence memo that Obama threatened President Bashar Al Assad for having crossed the red line...

In an unusual twist, the Israeli Debka report largely upholds the position taken by Russia’s president Vladimir Putin at the G-8 Summit in Northern Ireland.

Of significance, Debka also acknowledges that Al Nusrah –which is also supported covertly by Israel– is a terrorist organization. Moreover, Debka also confirms (without explicitly referring to Al Nusrah) that the US and NATO have delivered heavy weapons to the same Al Qaeda affiliated rebels in the Aleppo region bordering onto Turkey:

NATO and a number of European governments, most significantly the UK, have started airlifting heavy weapons to the Syrian rebels poised in Aleppo to fend off a major Syrian army offensive, according to debkafile’s exclusive military sources. They disclose that the first shipments were landed Monday night, June 17, and early Tuesday in Turkey and Jordan. They contained anti-air and tank missiles as well as recoilless 120 mm cannons mounted on jeeps. From there, they were transferred to rebel forces in southern Syria and Aleppo in the northwest. Valse vlag-operatie vermeden

De Turkse anti-terreureenheid heeft in de woningen van de Syrische rebellen in Zuid-Turkije tijdens huiszoekingen een cilinder van 2kg sarin-gas gevonden. Deze zou door de vrijheidsstrijders met mbv. een bom ingezet worden tegen de Zuid-Turkse stad Andana om nadien het regime van Assad te beschuldigen van het gebruik van chemische wapens tegen Turkije.

SANA.SY - Two Qatari officers transferred chemical materials used by terrorists in Khan al-Assal

Beirut, (SANA)- The Lebanese al-Akhbar newspaper revealed that the toxic chemical materials which the terrorist groups used in Khan al-Assal area in Aleppo last March were transferred by two Qatari officers across Turkey.

The newspaper pointed out that the transfer of chemical substances was done with the knowledge of Ankara, according to security information disclosed by an intelligence apparatus of a certain regional state.

The Qatari officers are Maj. Fahd Saeed al-Hajiri and Capt. Faleh Bin Khalid al-Tamimi, according to the information.

The Lebanese newspaper noted that the Turkish authorities tried to cover up the transfer process, particularly after Russian demands for explanations, by announcing the arrest of 12 Jabhat al-Nusra members with chemical materials, including 2 kg of sarin gas, in their possession.

The information provided by the aforementioned intelligence service stressed that the two Qatari officers were killed in a suspicious explosion in Somalia, which meets with Russian presumption on the same issue.

The newspaper was referring to the suicide bombing which targeted a Qatari procession in Mogadishu on the 5th of last May and in which 8 people at least were reported killed .

Media reports then highlighted how Qatar was trying to keep what happened off light to conceal the death of two high-ranking Qatari officials, one of them was in charge of coordinating work of recruiting terrorists who are being sent to Syria.

The information revealed by al-Akhbar newspaper coincides with reports by The Washington Post which stressed that after months of lab tests by U.S. experts, no evidence was reached to prove the allegations made by the "Syrian opposition" that chemical weapons were used by the Syrian government.

"The United States, Britain and France have supplied the United Nations with a trove of evidence, including multiple blood, tissue and soil samples, that U.S. officials say proves that Syrian troops used the nerve agent sarin on the battlefield," The Washington Post said in an article published Friday.

"But the nature of the physical evidence-as well as the secrecy over how it was collected and analyzed-has opened the administration to criticism by independent experts, who say there is no reliable way to assess its authenticity," it added.
