Met posters op dertig stadsbussen worden moslims in New York aangespoord om van hun geloof te stappen. Dat meldt CNN vandaag.
De campagne wordt betaald door de organisatie Stop de islamisering van Amerika en zorgt voor ophef onder islamieten. Leidster Pamela Geller laat weten dat er een speciale website is geopend, waarop geïnteresseerden ''zonder angst voor represailles'' informatie kunnen inwinnen. Moslims die boos zijn over de posters moeten volgens Geller niet zeuren. ''Dan negeren ze ze maar. De campagne is niet op hun gericht.''
