The West Wire - Joe Biden’s Son Appointed to Board of Directors of Ukraine’s Largest Gas Company (http://www.thewestwire.com/joe-biden-son-ukraine-gas-company/)

Vice President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, has been appointed to the board of directors of Burisma Holdings, a privately-owned natural gas company operating in the Ukraine since the year 2002. Burisma Holdings has become a considerable player within the Ukrainian natural gas and oil industry, with licences covering the Dnieper-Donets, Carpathian and Azov-Kuban basins. The production capability has reached over 10,500 barrels of oil equivalent per day (BOEPD) which has left the company with considerable reserves.

“War drums of the world’s superpowers have been given a rhythm”

...

Regardless of blurred lines of interest, it appears that the White House’s role in the current revolutionary atmosphere of the Ukraine has gotten more complicated. Now, with a direct line to the largest private oil and gas producer in the Ukraine, The Obama administration may have earned themselves a new seat of power at the bargaining table with Russia regarding the direction Ukrainian politics and sovereignty should move. In the dishevelment of Ukraine where supposed freedom fighters have shot their own, Nazis have been reported as lesser evil, and war drums of the world’s superpowers have been given a rhythm, it would seem the United States may have just purposefully made their tense dynamics with Russia’s Vladimir Putin become even more personal.

Wansmakelijke belangenverstrengeling of gewoonweg gezonde belangstelling van de globalistische elite voor de Oekraïense natuurlijke rijkdommen?

Hoe reageert Rusland? Een eerste reactie:

RT - Son of US VP Joe Biden appointed to board of major Ukrainian gas company (http://rt.com/business/158660-biden-son-ukraine-company/)

Hunter Biden, son of US VP Joe Biden, is joining the board of directors of Burisma Holdings, Ukraine’s largest private gas producer. The group has prospects in eastern Ukraine where civil war is threatened following the coup in Kiev.

Biden will advise on “transparency, corporate governance and responsibility, international expansion and other priorities” to ”contribute to the economy and benefit the people of Ukraine.”

Joe Biden’s senior campaign adviser in 2004, financier Devon Archer, a business partner of Hunter Biden’s, also joined the Bursima board claiming it was like ‘Exxon in the old days’.

...

Biden Jnr’s resume is unsurprisingly sprinkled with Ivy-league dust – he is on the Chairman’s Advisory Board for the National Democratic Institute, a director for the Center for National Policy and the US Global Leadership Coalition comprising 400 American businesses, NGOs, senior national security and foreign policy experts.

Former US President Bill Clinton appointed him an Executive Director of E-Commerce Policy and he was honorary co-chair of the 2008 Obama-Biden Inaugural Committee.

Burisma Holdings was set up in 2002. Its licenses cover Ukraine’s three key hydrocarbon basins, including Dnieper-Donets (in eastern Ukraine), Carpathian (western) and Azov-Kuban (southern Ukraine).

The Biden board news came as Gazprom moved Ukraine to a prepaid gas delivery regime and sent Naftogaz, Ukraine’s gas champion, a $1.66 billion bill for June with a June 2 deadline.

Ukraine currently stores about 9 billion cubic meters of gas, and by the winter needs 18.5bcm. Kiev bought 27.7 billion cubic meters from Gazprom for which it still owes some $3.5 bn in 2013.

Gazprom is demanding Kiev pays $485 per 1,000 cubic meters, raised from $268.50. Kiev rejects the new price as “politically motivated” and refuses to pay its debt.

Hoax?

http://thefederalist.com/2014/05/13/9-questions-to-ask-about-bidens-work-with-a-gas-company-in-ukraine/

8. How does Joe Biden have anything to do with this?

As far as we know, he doesn’t have anything to do with it at this point. However, he did visit Ukraine a day before Archer was allegedly appointed to Burisma’s board. And the White House announced yesterday, shortly before Hunter Biden’s alleged appointment to Burisma’s board was announced, that the vice president would visit Cyprus next week. According to the brief Businessweek profile of Burisma, the company is officially located in Cyprus.

9. This has to be a hoax, right?

It’s so bizarre that you almost have to assume it’s a hoax. It sounds more like a cliched movie plot — a shady foreign oil company co-opts the vice president’s son in order to capture lucrative foreign investment contracts — than something that would actually happen in real life. But the indications as of this afternoon are that the board appointments actually happened, and that a Ukrainian energy company has retained the counsel of the vice president’s son and the Secretary of State’s close family friend and top campaign bundler.

Biden family gas interests grow as Ukrainian crisis worsens

A roadmap for settling the crisis in Ukraine drawn up last week by the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), focuses on "restraint from violence, disarmament, national dialogue, and elections" – a truly delicate task, requiring lots of diplomacy and trust-building efforts.

Yet, while Kiev and its Nazi units are waging a so-called “counter-terrorist’ operation in the South East of the country killing hundreds of civilians, the son of the US vice-president Joe Biden is getting a BoD seat in the Burisma Holdings, the biggest private energy company in the Ukraine. Now, with the US leaders not even trying to conceal their interest in supporting the current regime – should they still be seen as reliable partners? Could anyone have any doubts left as to the nature and goals of Maidan real leaders? And why would they want to support the peacemaking in the Ukraine?
