Ze gaan dus niet op Berlijn wachten (1q 2022) voor het made in Europe model Y.

Zeer wslk vanuit China. Dat kunnen dus beter afgewerkte modellen met NMCA batterijpack zijn (LGChem cellen, slechts 5% Cobalt en meer Nikkel en Al voor stabilisatie), werd in juni aangekondigd.

Wie weet volgt het model Y SR+ model ook nog met LFP-accupack.

Het performance model zal wel pas voor 2022 zijn. Want in Azië zeer populair.

Voor de boten het duurt ~5 dagen langer vanuit Shanghai dan vanuit SFO.

TESLA MODEL Y RESERVATIE BEDRAG TERUGKRIJGEN?

Dat ik naar een EV aan het kijken ben om mijn aflopende Diesel leasing te gaan vervangen, mag wel duidelijk zijn als je het EV test lijstjes leest op deze blog.

In januari 2020 (wat een onbezorgde tijd als je nu terugkijkt) heb ik toen dan ook een reservatie gemaakt voor een full-option Tesla Y (aanbetaling van 2.000EUR). Toen was er sprake van een start van de leveringen in Europa begin 2021.

Ondertussen weten we beter en is de bouw van de nieuwe Tesla fabriek in Berlijn (die de Model Y voor Europa gaat bouwen) nog volop bezig. Daarnaast blijft de afwerkingskwaliteit ondermaats (zeker de eerste leveringsmaanden in de US waren rampzalig van afwerking). Zelfs de testwagen die tech YouTuber MKBHD kreeg van Tesla zelf voor een review was rampzalig van afwerking. Ik vermoed dat ook de Europese fabriek eerst een testperiode gaat hebben, dus dat je pas over een goed jaar echt goed afgewerkte Tesla Y’s gaat hebben. Daar ga ik niet meer op wachten.

Een goed afgewerkte Model Y MIC komt nu wel vanaf september als je hem vandaag besteld, dus 3 maand eerder. 8-)

Tesla Model Y has received massive new orders in China following the introduction of the cheaper Standard Range version. The use of lithium iron phosphate batteries allowed Tesla to significantly reduce the price of the vehicle.

Demonstration vehicles will arrive in stores shortly. "The new car scheduling orders have been delayed until September, and the number of people coming to the stores in recent days will be very high," the report quoted a Tesla insider as saying.

Model Y Long Range is sold in China for RMB 347,900 (about $53,725). However, the Standard Range uses lithium iron phosphate batteries, which reduces the range by just 69 kilometers (43 miles), but costs RMB 276,000 (about $42,600), down RMB 71,900 (about $11,125).

"The biggest impact of Tesla on rivals and the biggest contribution to consumers is to gradually break the pricing advantage of luxury brands. For BBA (Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Audi), the pressure on their main products will be very high in the future after they lose their price advantage," the report quoted experts as saying.

't is maar hoe je de cijfers voorstelt. Tesla is maar een kleinere speler (9%) in de Duitse BEV-markt.

Tis maar wat je bedoelt onder spelers.

Uiteraard is Tesla maar 1 automerk met quasi maar 1 model dit halfjaar 2021 in D aangeboden. Of enkel 1 middenklasser model 3 met 3 E-varianten.

Toch al heel vergezocht als je enkel het Tesla model 3 met OEMs of Grps gaat vergelijken die uit een tiental automerken bestaan...

VW Grp heeft nu 5 (6) automerken die BEVs lever(d)en: VW, Audi, Skoda, Porsche, Cupra, Seat. Seat valt weg denk ik de Seat Mii gaan ze niet meer aanbieden in Q3. (Cupra is onder de vlag van Seat).

Tesla Model 3 & Y Are Top 2 Best-Selling EVs in South Korea in 1H 2021

Tesla became the leader in the South Korean electric vehicle market in the first half of the year. Model 3 became the best-selling EV, and Model Y took a solid second place.

Tesla is dominating the South Korean EV market with a 43% share of all passenger EVs sold in the first half of 2021. In addition, the manufacturer dominated the market for imported cars sold in Korea during the same period, accounting for a whopping 81.4%.

In the first half of the year, Tesla sold 11,629 vehicles in South Korea, including Model 3 and Model Y, and posted a 64.3% increase over the same period last year, according to CarIsYou data. Among them, 6,275 were Model 3, making it the best-selling EV in the country. The car was already the best-selling EV in South Korea in 2020 and has every chance of repeating its success this year. However, now, Model 3 has a new hot competitor on the market: its younger sibling, Model Y.

In 1H 2021, Tesla sold 5,316 Model Y units, sales of which only began in February. Most likely, if the car had been sold and delivered on the market during all six months of this year, it would have become the best-selling EV there. The compact SUV is a very popular body type, so there is every reason to believe Model Y can take the lead in for the full 2021.

Even reality check: in de eerste 6 maand van 2021 verkocht Huyndai/Kia 25000 BEV's op de lokale markt (ondanks de verkoopstop van de Kona EV, omwille van brandproblemen) en 4500 FCEV's.

In de maand juni verkocht Huyndai al 3667 Ioniq 5 (beperkt beschikbaar sinds mei in Z. Korea), meer dan de model 3 of de model Y, maar dat gaan blogjes zoals "tesmanian" u niet vertellen...

Tesla: Elon Musk ‘rather hates’ being company boss

Elon Musk has revealed that he does not enjoy being the boss of Tesla.

"I rather hate it and I would much prefer to spend my time on design and engineering," he told a US court.

Tesla's billionaire founder was speaking at the start of a trial where he is accused of pressuring the firm's board members into a $2.6bn (£1.9bn) deal to buy a solar panel firm.

Shareholders claim the carmaker's money was wasted on buying SolarCity, which - they say - was running out of money.

At the time of the deal, Mr Musk owned a 22% stake in both Tesla and the solar panel company, which was founded by his cousins.

"Since it was a stock-for-stock transaction and I owned almost exactly the same percentage of both there was no financial gain," he said.

'All part of a master plan'

He also denied exerting pressure on board members, saying that the deal was part of a "master plan" to create affordable vehicles with green power supplies.

Shareholders bringing the case against Mr Musk, who is worth $168bn according to Forbes, have asked the court that he repay Tesla the $2.6bn in full. That would be one of the largest ever judgements against an individual.

Last year, other board members at Tesla settled a lawsuit over the deal for $60m. Those board members, who excluded Mr Musk, did not admit any wrongdoing.

Dan Ives, an analyst at Wedbush Securities, said that investors would be watching the case very closely.

The SolarCity deal has been a "black eye" for both Mr Musk and Tesla and a "clear low light" in the company's rise, he wrote in a note.

Despite that, Tesla shares rose on Monday, closing more than 4% higher.

The trial is expected to last about two weeks. Randall Baron, the attorney for the shareholders, warned the entrepreneur that the case being heard in Delaware Chancery Court was "going to be a grind".

Gesturing to a thick folder of documents prepared by Mr Baron, Mr Musk replied: "I can tell by the binder."

Er werden meer EV's verkocht dan die cijfers aangeven. De meest recente cijfers (tot en met mei '21) van het ministerie van energie in Korea geven 27000 BEV's aan, dus met de maand juni er bij zou H1 2021 wel richting 38 a 39000 BEV's kunnen gaan. Uiteraard zitten daar ook kleine bestelwagens in zoals de Hyundai Porter, die daar ontzettend goed verkoopt.

Oei, pijnlijk voor Audi e-tron moest het waar zijn. Made in Belgium.

Hieronder de juiste context waarom ze dat uitzonderlijk maar 1 keer deed bij haar allereerste verre dienstrit met haar EV, maar het verstoot wel tegen de dienstwagenregels. Daarom wat sensatie in de Duitse pers.

Het laatste nieuws verzwijgt namelijk bijna alles en maakt er een fantasieverhaaltje van. In de regel moest ze maar eventueel héél kort aan de snellader voor 2 afspraken (snel gereden), slechts 270 km in totaal moest ze die dag afleggen, maar ze wou liever helemaal niet bijladen en zo op 100% zekerheid spelen en om meer op haar gemak te zijn, want er was maar weinig tijdbuffer tussen die 2 afspraken op 1 dag, dat was het excuus.

Ter info een van mijn schoonbroers is chauffeur op een kabinet ( nu nog ) .....toen een vorige minister een nieuwe wou kopen kregen ze testwagens ....één ervan "Testwagen van Tesla " daar wilden ze mee naar Rotterdam rijden -> zijn maar blijven overnachten daar want ineens terug rijden ging niet en opladen wou de minister niet ....keuze is daarna op een gepantserde Zweed gevallen . Tesla’s 4680 battery cell has battery makers and suppliers battling for the contract of a lifetime, developing prototypes and samples of the cylindrical design in an effort to win a contract from the electric car company.

In 2020, Tesla unveiled the 4680 cell, a new battery that the company would begin implementing its vehicles. Not only did Tesla outline its 5x energy capacity, its 6x increase in power, and its 16% increase in range, but it also showed how the 4680 cells would be structurally integrated into its vehicles. The design would create a robust and more competent vehicle structure, adding to rigidity, safety, and overall strength for cars in the event of an accident.

However, the 4680 cell hasn’t been rolled out into vehicles quite yet, and Tesla is still loading up on the new batteries ahead of its initial installation into the company’s all-electric vehicles. While Tesla is producing the cell in-house at the Kato Road facility in Northern California, other cell manufacturers are creating prototypes of Tesla’s revolutionary cell, sparring for a chance to be offered a once-in-a-lifetime contract that would allow a company to produce the cell for the company’s vehicles.

According to a new report from The Korea Herald, battery suppliers are currently developing prototypes and testing them ahead of sending them to Tesla. The report states:

“Samsung SDI and LG Energy Solution have developed samples of cylindrical 4680 cells and are currently conducting various tests at their facilities to verify their structural integrity. Also, they have provided specifications of their 4680 cells to their vendors.”

While Tesla already depends on LG Chem, Panasonic, and CATL for its energy needs across the multiple regions where its vehicles are available, there is room for Samsung SDI to join the supply chain, officials say. Samsung reportedly linked up with Tesla in an over $400 million deal for cameras that will be equipped on the Cybertruck, sources reported yesterday. Samsung is also in the process of building its first battery cell plant in the United States, and a deal with Tesla for the 4680 cells would only improve the company’s situation as it expands into Tesla’s home country.

As previously mentioned, the 4680 cells are not currently being placed in vehicles by Tesla. However, the cells will be transported to Germany from the Kato Road facility for Model Y production at Giga Berlin. They will also likely be a part of the Model Y production at Giga Texas, which is slated to begin production by the end of the year, along with the German plant.
