Mujahideen Army Calls Upon Fighters to Attack Denmark and Norway

The Mujahideen Army in Iraq--a prominent Sunni insurgent group--has released a new communique threatening to attack Denmark and Norway over a series of recent cartoons ridiculing the Prophet Mohammed. According to the statement:

“…We, along with the rest of the world, have observed the offensive and harmful blasphemy against the blessed messenger Mohammed. This wrongdoing was perpetrated by several institutions from the promiscuous countries Denmark and Norway who secretly hate Islam and its leaders... Settling for [merely] boycotting these cowards is a position of weakness that is indicative of a feeble nation that does not stand up in defense of its Prophet and the principles that it believes in. They started [the battle] and they should suffer its consequences. We call upon all our brigades in the Mujahideen Army to attack whatever they possibly can in these two countries specifically, and in other countries who repeat what they have done… Let us make our own efforts on top of Allah’s expected revenge—and hopefully, Allah will choose us to be among those who seek revenge for Mohammed in his name, as this in itself is a great honor for a Muslim.”

On the 30th of September 2005 the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten published 12 cartoons depicting the prophet Mohammed. Mohammedans raised a storm of protest and two artists went into hiding after receiving death threats. Islamic organisations demanded an apology from the Danish government and the incident turned into a world-wide diplomatic issue. The OIC (the Organisation of the Islamic Conference), the Council of Europe and the UN all criticised the government of Denmark for not taking measures against the newspaper Jyllands-Posten. The Danish prime minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen defended the freedom of the press and free speech and stated that any measures, if appropriate, could not be taken by the government but only by a court of law. Meanwhile in Islamic countries Danish flags are burned and Danish products are taken off the shelves. Several countries have withdrawn their ambassadors from Denmark and armed men attacked the office of the EU in the Gaza strip.

Persoonlijk ben ik ook voor het kopen van Deense producten, nu ze worden geboycot in het Midden-Oosten. Liever dat dan een beetje oorlogvoeren. En dat er nu onnozelaars worden ontslagen omdat ze ook eens stoer wouden doen door die cartoons te gebruiken, dat is hun fout. Die Denen hadden goeie bedoelingen toen ze het deden, maar dat hoefde niet 10 keer herhaald te worden. Dus ja, de Denen wil ik op die manier wel steunen. Maar als iedereen begint dergelijke cartoons te publiceren dan hebben we gewoon geen eerbied meer voor de moslimcultuur, en dan dreigen we op een oorlog af te stevenen.

Ze moeten al die tekeningen hangen waar ze hun uitkering komen halen, dat zal Belgie en Nederland en elk land met die uitkerings trekkers gelijk helpen

moet je eens indenken hoeveel geld we dan overhouden voor betere dingen 8)

Het Westen zou er misschien beter aan doen om haar bedrijven/media niet steeds te verkopen aan de meest biedende, in casu van France soir een Egyptenaar.
Nog enkele van dergelijke overnames en de weinige vrije pers die er nog in Europa bestaat zal ook verdwijnen.
Binnen 10 jaar enkel nog kranten in het Arabisch?
