De frontpagina van de South China Morning Post vandaag. Een van de meest gelezen Engelstalige kranten in Hong Kong. Dit niveau van persvrijheid is natuurlijk ondenkbaar in China en kan misschien weldra tot het verleden behoren.

Op andere plaatsen waar ook in de wereld had de overheid allang veel harder gereageerd met oproerpolitie of national guards enzo!
(BTW: Hong Kong heeft met Carrie Lam het slechtste leadership sinds de overdracht. -> Girl Power? Mijn kloten van de Schoof, ja.)

They also used baggage carts to try to block the ambulance from leaving.
Later the protesters assaulted and tied up another mainland man who they said had been taking close up headshots of people with his mobile phone. They asked if he was a reporter but then used cable ties to tie his hands together when he apparently failed to co-operate with them.
Demonstrators are wary about police or others disguising themselves as protesters or reporters after black-clothed "decoy" officers helped arrest people during clashes on the weekend.
Paramedics were finally able to take the man out on a stretcher around midnight. The editor of the mainland Global Times newspaper later that he was one of their reporters and had just been covering events.

Met dat laatste ben ik het niet eens, maar soit.

RTHK geeft ook degelijke info met filmmateriaal dat objectieve beelden verspreid.
Wat mij betreft mag nu wel ingegrepen worden volgens artikels 13 en 18 van de basic law. (Beide artikelen houden in dat de PLA zich per direct terugtrekt na volbrengen van een suksesvolle interventie.) De PLA mag trouwens Carrie Lam meenemen zonder officiële extraditie maar dat is een persoonlijke mening, niet echt objectief.)

toen hebben ze voor 50j bepaalde vrijheden verworven maar na 50j wordt hong kong een normale Chinese stad.

peking moet dus nog 30j wachten, meer niet, en ze rollen hun communisme volledig uit. Niemand in hong kong kan daar iets tegen doen
