Brussels, May 15th: Libertas.eu, the website of the pan European people’s movement for more democracy, accountability and transparency in the EU, had more visitors mid-week than any other political party in the world. Figures from Alexa, the web tracking company, for Wednesday May 13th , show Libertas blazing ahead, leaving even the US Democratic party website trailing.


Speaking from the Libertas alliance launch in Slovakia today, Libertas Chairman Declan Ganley said ”Libertas is a people’s movement and the increasing numbers coming on to our website show that it is rapidly gaining momentum. Not only are people logging on to Libertas.eu, they are volunteering support, sending us ideas and donating to the Libertas campaign for change in Brussels.”

Libertas.eu is a pro-European movement committed to bringing more democracy, accountability and transparency to European Union law-making and institutions.

In June, Libertas-backed candidates will run across the 27 member countries of the European Union for the European Parliament elections. Libertas.eu seeks to have the European voters’ mandate to reform the EU. This is the first time a pan-European party will contest the European elections.
