An Indian Muslim preacher has been banned from entering the UK for his "unacceptable behaviour", the home secretary says.

Zakir Naik, a 44-year-old television preacher, had been due to give a series of lectures in London and Sheffield.

Theresa May said that visiting the UK was "a privilege, not a right".

The home secretary can stop people entering the UK if she believes there is a threat to national security, public order or the safety of citizens.

Schandalig!

Wilders mocht ook de UK niet in, weet je wel.

Toch is het niet verstandig de man toegang te weigeren. Lijkt me alleszins de moeite waard naar hem te luisteren, te meer daar hij het Engels machtig is en men hem kan verstaan.

Onverstandig Porpo - schandalig is ietwat te zwaar beladen.

Ga je akkoord dus met deze verbanning?

De regering is veranderd, de ambtenaren niet. Hun advies, opgevolgd door het kabinet, is nog steeds even achterlijk.

Nee Porpo, ik ga niet akkoord.

Mee eens. Die man is hoog opgeleid, heeft al zowat heel de wereld rondgereisd en kan sterk debatteren over de islam. Honderden Engelse moslims volgen hem ook via Sky satteliet op peace tv met nota bene een afdeling in de VK... Echt een waardeloze verbanning. Dit zal niet in goede aarde vallen bij de overwegend Aziatische moslimbevolking van Engeland.

Het is inderdaad waardeloos en onbegrijpelijk. Gewoon verschrikkelijk!

Als ze hem missen, moeten ze hem maar achterna reizen. Opgeruimd staat netjes.

Hij komt vaak op peace tv. Misschien kunnen ze hem nog via deze zending volgen, indien ze niet van plan zijn om ook peace tv te bannen?

Zijn debat met Sri Sri Ravishankar was echt prachtig. Kon me niet eens voorstellen, iemand die alle heilige boeken van joden, christenen, hindoe's en boedhisten, .. van buiten kent .. 8-)
