De sancties tegen Iran leiden tot onrust onder de bevolking

5 oktober 2012 Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman said Thursday he believes “the Arab Spring will be followed by a Persian Spring,” with international sanctions against Iran leading to renewed domestic unrest. “The Arab Spring will be followed by a Persian Spring, instability is spreading in Iran, and not just in Tehran,” Lieberman told Israeli military radio.

De komende dagen zal blijken of het protest al dan niet van voorbijgaande aard zal zijn.

Een Perzische lente zou er waarschijnlijk voor zorgen dat er hardliners aan de macht komen, die het niet nemen dat er een economische oorlog van het westen tegen hun land gevoerd wordt.

De bevolking is ook bang om opnieuw in een oorlog betrokken te raken, ik weet niet of ze zich dan met overtuiging zullen laten afmaken zoals vroeger. Ik weet ook niet of het regime een oorlog zou overleven, je moet echt iedereen een wapen geven dan.

het is nochtans heel simpel: Iran stopt met het aanmaken van kernwapens en de sancties zullen stoppen !

je bedoel toch een GLOBALE economische oorlog niet :lol:

Nee. Dat Iran niet geïsoleerd staat is wel evident nu Iran tot voorzitter van de groep van niet gebonden landen verkozen is. Doen alsof die 130 landen niet meetellen is typisch westerse neokoloniale arrogantie. Dat zien we wel vaker. Dat de VS en Europa over zichzelf spreken wanneer ze het hebben over 'de internationale gemeenschap'.

Ja deze sancties kwamen er op vraag van de VN goedgekeurd door oa de 'Westerse' landen Rusland,China,Gabon,Uganda en Nigeria :-D

Ondertussen strooit Hillary nog wat zout in de wonde...

Het leed, armoede en de komende protesten staan niet in verband met de sancties tegen dat land, waar wel met het slechte economische beleid van de regering van Iran.

“We have always said that we had a dual-track approach to this, and one track was trying to put pressure on the Iranian government to come to the negotiating table,” Mrs. Clinton told reporters. But she said it was Iran’s own mismanagement of its economy, more than the sanctions, that deserved “responsibility for what is going on inside Iran.”

“And that is who should be held accountable,” Mrs. Clinton said. “And I think that they have made their own government decisions, having nothing to do with the sanctions that have had an impact on the economic conditions inside the country.”




This is a perfect example of a government official covering her tush by anticipating the storm of protest that will ensue once the poor and vulnerable start dying on the street and crying babies no longer can be fed by their mothers. That’s when the internal contradictions of the sanctions regime will begin to be seen more clearly. That is, that the strangulation of Iran will not hurt anyone in the leadership. It will not hurt the military. It will not end the nuclear program. It isn’t even “forcing Iran’s leaders to rethink the costs of their nuclear program” as David Sanger claims (typically without offering any proof).

It will hurt civilians. It will hurt the great mass of Iranians outside of those we claim to be targeting. This is an experiment in collective punishment. The experiment involves putting the screws to an entire nation in hopes that the masses will rise up and throw out the real targets of our wrath. This hope is false and unfounded. The only way to topple the current regime is to allow events to take their course and leave that in the hands of Iranians themselves.

Further, the goal of Clinton and Obama is regime change, not just an end to Iran’s nuclear program as they claim. This is a goal they will not attain, at least not by these means.

Collective punishment, starvation of a mass population is a violation of the Geneva Convention. Our policy is a violation of international law. The blood of the dead will be on our heads. We will not let Clinton or Obama off the hook easily. She will not blame the victim for his suffering. We will tell the world that the U.S. is the perpetrator and responsibility for this empty suffering lies on our doorstep.</sub>

Ik heb het niet over die minimale sancties van al een tijd geleden als gevolg van een ondertussen opgelost probleem in de rapportering.

Resolutie 1803 van de Veiligheidsraad van de Verenigde Naties werd door de Veiligheidsraad van de Verenigde Naties aangenomen op 3 maart 2008. Veertien leden van de Raad stemden voor en één, Indonesië, onthield zich. De resolutie verstrengde de sancties tegen Iran verder omwille van diens kernprogramma. Ook werden de landen gevraagd waakzaam te zijn over activiteiten met Iraanse banken en verdachte Iraanse vliegtuigen en schepen te inspecteren

tot op heden gelden nog steeds deze sancties

Toch steunen de 130 NAM landen Iran's recht in deze zaak. De wereld is verdeelder dan u denkt mbt Irans nucleair programma.

De VS en Europa implementeerden extra sancties achter de rug van de VN.

Vindt u dat Israël zich dient te houden aan de resoluties van de VN?

Burundi,Libie, Panama, Zuid Afrika en Vietnam zijn niet gebonden landen die deze resolutie goedkeurden
Costa Rica, Kroatië en China zijn observerende leden die deze resolutie hebben goedgekeurd!

Lees de verklaring van de laatste conferentie van NAM. Dat is in 2012. Daar staat dat de NAM Irans recht op nucleaire energie erkennen inclusief het bezit van de volledige nucleaire cyclus. Dit houdt in Uranium verrijking.

Rusland en China zullen ook spijt hebben dat ze een resolutie tegen Libië hebben goedgekeurd die naderhand door het westen misbruikt werd om het land te veroveren. De tijd staat niet stil.

Toch nog eens positief nieuws voor Iran.

De moeilijke maanden zijn voorbij : Iran exporteert opnieuw succesvol ruwe olie, Iran weet effectief het embargo te omzeilen.
