According to AFP news agency, Tuesday's attack brings to at least 32 the number of people killed in US drone strikes in nearly a month in Yemen.

Washington uses its assassination drones in Yemen, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Somalia, claiming that they target the terrorists. The attacks, however, have mostly led to massive civilian casualties.

The United Nations has censured the US drone attacks as targeted killings, stressing that the raids flout international law. Reports, however, say that the CIA is seeking to expand its covert drone attacks in Yemen.

Yemenis have held several anti-US rallies across the country over the past months and have called on their government to cut all ties with Washington over the deadly airstrikes.

Jemen is al een tijdje uit de actualiteit sinds Saleh gevlucht is naar Ethiopië. 'Caretaker' Abd Rabbuh Mansur al-Hadi volgde Saleh op in november en werd in februari zonder tegenstander verkozen met 99.80% van de stemmen.

Yemenis continue to hold demonstrations to call for political restructuring of the country and to demand the dismissal of members of Saleh’s regime from their government posts.

Niet zo moeilijk. Het socialistische Zuid-Jemen ((Aden) is samen gegaan na veel gevechten met het conservatieve Noord-Jemen.
Wij moeten onze mede-socialisten helpen in hun strijd voor rechtvaardigheid en dus de Jemenitische Socialistische Partij (الحزب الاشتراكي اليمن, Al-Hizb Al-Ishtiraki Al-Yamani) dient onze steun en wapens te krijgen.

Niet te veel gebruik maken van google, google vertaler of wikipedia.
Het is الحزب الإشتراكي اليمني en niet الحزب الاشتراكي اليمن.

Als het aan politieke partijen, van welk soort dan ook, zou liggen, dan zou je nooit van revolutie of opstand kunnen dromen. Niet de elites, maar het is het volk dat in actie moet komen en er is daar geen wapens voor nodig, maar geweld zal onvermijdbaar zijn aangezien de elites zich overal mee bemoeien alsof ze in de naam van de massa mogen spreken !!

Sana'a is dus gevallen.

Als de Houthi-rebellen Jemen gaan besturen, heeft de VS een bondgenoot minder in het Midden-Oosten, en Iran heeft er een bondgenoot bij. De Houthi-rebellen strijden al jaren in Jemen tegen de regering, en werden gesteund door Iran (en Syrië). Er vochten ook Houthi's in Syrië mee.
