BEIJING, Oct. 13 (Xinhua) -- As U.S. politicians of both political parties are still shuffling back and forth between the White House and the Capitol Hill without striking a viable deal to bring normality to the body politic they brag about, it is perhaps a good time for the befuddled world to start considering building a de-Americanized world.

Emerging from the bloodshed of the Second World War as the world's most powerful nation, the United States has since then been trying to build a global empire by imposing a postwar world order, fueling recovery in Europe, and encouraging regime-change in nations that it deems hardly Washington-friendly.

With its seemingly unrivaled economic and military might, the United States has declared that it has vital national interests to protect in nearly every corner of the globe, and been habituated to meddling in the business of other countries and regions far away from its shores.

Meanwhile, the U.S. government has gone to all lengths to appear before the world as the one that claims the moral high ground, yet covertly doing things that are as audacious as torturing prisoners of war, slaying civilians in drone attacks, and spying on world leaders.

Under what is known as the Pax-Americana, we fail to see a world where the United States is helping to defuse violence and conflicts, reduce poor and displaced population, and bring about real, lasting peace.

13 oktober 2013 - We assume it is a coincidence that on the day in which we demonstrate China's relentless appetite for gold, driven by what we and many others believe is the country's desire to have a call option on a gold-backed reserve currency when the time comes, just posted in China's official press agency, Xinhua, is an op-ed by writer Liu Chang in which he decries the "US fiscal failure which warrants a de-Americanized world" and flatly states that the world should consider a new reserve currency "that is to be created to replace the dominant U.S. dollar, so that the international community could permanently stay away from the spillover of the intensifying domestic political turmoil in the United States."

Some of China's (which as a reminder is the single largest offshore holder of US Treasury paper, and the second largest of all only second naturally to the Federal Reserve whose $85 billion in monthly monetizing "flow" is what is keeping rates from exploding higher) thoughts as captured in the Xinhua Op-ed:

• Reform of the world’s financial system should include the introduction of a new internatonal reserve currency to replace the U.S. dollar
• The international community could thus permanently stay away from the spillover of intensifying domestic political turmoil in the U.S.
• Fiscal impasse in the U.S. is a good time for “befuddled world” to start considering building a “de-Americanized world”
• Impasse has left many nations’ dollar assets in jeopardy and the international community agonized
• Other cornerstones should be laid to underpin a de-Americanized world, including respect for sovereignty, recognizing authority of UN in handling global hotspot issues and giving developing and emerging market economies more say in major international financial institutions
• Purpose of such changes is not to “completely toss the United States aside,” rather to encourage Washington to play a much more constructive role in addressing global affairs

Of course, if and when the day comes that the USD is no longer the reserve currency, kiss America's superpower, or any power, status, which is now based purely on the USD's reserve currency status, and the ability to fund half the US budget deficit with debt promptly monetized by the Fed, goodbye.

Vergeet niet dat de VS zelfvoorzienend is. De grote steden en de agglomeraties zullen een algehele geldcrash nagenoeg niet overleven, maar het platteland biedt nog volop mogelijkheden om een gereduceerd aantal mensen van voedsel te voorzien.

Mocht zich iets dergelijks in Europa voordoen dan gaat Nederland als eerste voor de bijl.
Alle agrariërs zijn weggebonjourd, hun landereijen verkwanseld tot vinexwijken.
De lanbouw die er nog is is uitsluitend commerciëel.

Als het Ponzi-schema instort zijn we in een klap terug in de middeleeuwen.

Daarom zijn er oorlogen. Oorlogen maken een end aan het Ponzi-schema zodat het weer opnieuw kan gaan beginnen.

De situatie zal veel erger worden met het dubbele aantal inwoners van toen en een groot deel daarvan niet bij machte iets uit te voeren

De opbrengsten liggen nu veel hoger dan destijds. Om een juiste kunstmestmix te geven afhankelijk van bodem en gewas, is hedentendage een vak en een high tech gebeuren. Ook de gemalen werken beter dan destijds, waardoor er minder voedsel in of op de bodem wegrot. Tel daarbij op GMO's tenminste als die Europese angst voor Frankenstein gewassen wegvalt, en der is nog meer opbrengst.

Juist; voedsel fabrieken gemanaged door Ir's komen er voor in de plaats. 3 % van de werkkrachten bepaalt de welvaart voor andere 97 %, welk laatste groep er vnl voor spek en bonen bij zit, en vooral consumeert.

"The fundamental situation that the debt growth rate significantly outpaces that of fiscal income and gross domestic product remains unchanged," Dagong said in the statement, adding Washington's solvency was vulnerable as old debts were still repaid through raising new debts. "Hence the government is still approaching the verge of default crisis, a situation that cannot be substantially alleviated in the foreseeable future," it said.

China’s military issued an unusually harsh denunciation of Rep. Frank R. Wolf over his sponsoring of legislation that would restrict U.S.-China space cooperation.
Mr. Wolf, chairman of the House Appropriations subcommittee on commerce, justice and science, wrote an open letter to NASA Administrator Charles F. Bolden Jr. last week that described the agency’s Ames Research Center as “a rat’s nest of inappropriate and possibly illegal activities.”
The congressman was critical of the NASA center for what he said were inaccurate comments that appeared in a British newspaper about restrictions on U.S.-China space cooperation.
Mr. Wolf, Virginia Republican, said China is deserving of criticism for its human rights abuses, espionage and cyberattacks, and growing space warfare capabilities, including the recent test of a satellite that captured another satellite with a robotic arm.
In response, PLA Daily, the newspaper of the Chinese military, reported Oct. 11 that NASA’s blocking of Chinese scientists to an international astronomy conference resulted from anti-communist fervor.
“In his open letter to Bolden, Wolf, as usual, continued to violently slander China for the so-called theft of military and commercial secrets, and alleged that China would be provided with more opportunities for stealing secrets from the U.S. if the two countries seek cooperation in spaceflight,” the newspaper stated.
The Chinese accused Mr. Wolf of being part of a group that has “long been clinging to the Cold War mentality and prejudiced against China.” The paper then said China and the U.S. are important “space powers,” and noted the use by U.S. astronauts of a Chinese space station in the new Hollywood movie “Gravity.”
China is seeking greater access to U.S. technology, including space know-how, but has been blocked because Beijing’s space program is run by its military, which is developing high-technology space warfare capabilities, including missiles, killer satellites and lasers.
