Saudi Government Daily 'Okaz': Senate's Passage Of Bill Allowing To Sue Saudi Arabia For September 11 Attacks Will 'Open Gates Of Hell' For U.S.


For the past few weeks, the Saudis have been perturbed over the Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act (JASTA) now before the U.S. Congress, which, if passed, will allow the families of victims of the September 11 attacks to sue Saudi Arabia over its alleged support for terrorism. On May 17, 2016, the bill was passed unanimously by the Senate; it must next be passed by the House of Representatives.

The bill's passage by the Senate enraged the Saudis, as expressed in a scathing article in the Saudi government daily 'Okaz titled "Congress's Satanic Deed Opens the Gates of Hell for the World's Largest Country" and accompanied by an image of President Obama with a Star of David and the emblem of the Iranian regime on his forehead (see below).

The same day, the Saudi daily Al-Jazirah published an article in a similar vein warning that JASTA would become a noose around the neck of the legislators who pass it.

It should be noted that the White House opposes the bill, and that even if the House of Representatives passes it President Obama is likely to veto it. The Saudis, however, are nevertheless very concerned about it, as was evident as early as several weeks ago in a statement by Saudi Foreign Minister 'Adel Al-Jubeir, who, during a March visit to the U.S., threatened that his country would sell off $750 billion in U.S. Treasury securities and other assets so that they would not be frozen by U.S. courts.[1] Furthermore, for the past few weeks the Saudi press has been publishing articles against the bill, one of which even claimed that the U.S. itself carried out the September 11 attacks but is now blaming Saudi Arabia for them in order to pressure it.[2]

The following are excerpts from the articles in 'Okaz and Al-Jazirah.

Saudi Daily 'Okaz: The Bill Is A 'Satanic Deed'; The Senate Will Regret Passing It

The 'Okaz article stated: "The U.S. Senate exhibited the most despicable kind of double standard, defied the [whole] world and showed contempt for international law when it passed a bill allowing families of the September 11 victims to sue Saudi Arabia. This bill will change the international law regarding sovereign immunity, which has long been implemented.[3] The Senate failed to understand that, by adopting this bill, it will open many doors for harming the U.S. [itself], because this bill will enable countries that have been harmed by the U.S. to sue it for war crimes.

"The Senate's decision exposed the hypocrisy of the U.S. decision makers and proved that there is no justice or morality in American politics. The U.S. administration is bound to realize that the decisions of American political institutions carry a heavy economic price, which will cause the members of the Senate to regret [passing the bill].

"House of Representatives Speaker Paul Ryan, who is the most influential Republican politician in the U.S., understands the economic damage that the U.S. will suffer if this bill is approved. He warned the Senate members not to make mistakes vis-�*-vis Saudi Arabia, but Senate President Joe Biden stuck to his racist [positions] and pushed to pass this bill... House of Representatives Speaker [Ryan], who understands that the Senate is playing with fire and jeopardizing U.S.-Saudi relations, said that Congress and the U.S. administration must make sure that no mistakes are made vis-�*-vis America's ally in the Middle East, but Senate President Joe Biden, whose position is hostile, incited the Senate to pass the bill.

"Senate President and U.S. Vice President Joe Biden also initiated the proposal to divide Iraq into three mini-states on a sectarian and national basis... Biden's rhetoric has provoked a heated debate in the U.S. and outside it, because it contains [elements of] xenophobia and clear hostility towards Muslims.

"The double standard in the U.S. policy has become clear, considering that it ignores Iran and Hizbullah, who, in documents of the U.S. Prosecutor, were convicted of perpetrating the September 11 [attacks] along with Al-Qaeda, and at the same time it levels accusations against a country that has suffered and is still suffering from terror [namely Saudi Arabia], and which spends large sums to defend the region from its dangers."[4]

Saudi Columnist: The Bill may Become A Noose That Will Tighten Around America's Neck

In an article published the same day in the Saudi daily Al-Jazira, columnist Fadhel Bin Sa'd Al-Bu'aynin likewise warned that "stripping countries of their [sovereign] immunity and allowing them to be sued will open the gates of hell for the Americans themselves." He added: "This bill... could be a hangman's noose that will tighten around the neck of its legislator [i.e., America], because the known issues of terror have an intelligence aspect in which Western intelligence apparatuses take part. This, in addition to the state terror that is currently described as intervention [aimed at] protecting peoples, rescuing them and imposing democracy, but is [actually] nothing but interference aimed at destroying countries and peoples, toppling their governments and stealing their resources. One day, this law will be used to sue all those who who caused the destruction of Iraq, Syria and Libya and spread terror organizations in them, and everyone who planned to destroy Egypt, Jordan and Morocco. The monster will rise up against its creator..."[5]

De VS krijgt lik op stuk, Huize Saoed is echt boos en beschuldigt de VS ervan betrokken te zijn bij terrorisme (de zogenaamde humanitaire interventies), staatsterrorisme vemomd als 'de plicht om te beschermen' (R2P-doctrine) en het verspreiden van democratie. Maar de doelstelling van deze interventies zijn het vernietigen van landen en mensen, regeringen omverwerpen en grondstoffen stelen.

Ooit zal de dag komen dat diezelfde wetgeving aangewend wordt om zij welke de vernietiging in Irak, Libie en Syrie veroorzaakt hebben en er terroristische groeperingen geinstalleerd hebben en de vernietiging van Egypte, Marokko en Jordanie plannen, te vervolgen.

Het monster zal opstaan tegen zijn schepper (de VS).

De JASTA-act zou volgens Saoedi-Arabië maken dat de VS in de toekomst door door de VS beschadigde landen voor oorlogsmisdaden vervolgd kan worden.

The JASTA bill, which was passed by the Senate on May 17, 2016, triggered fury in Saudi Arabia, expressed both in statements by the Saudi foreign minister and in scathing attacks on the U.S. in the Saudi press.[2] On April 28, 2016, the London-based Saudi daily Al-Hayat published an exceptionally harsh article on this topic by Saudi legal expert Katib Al-Shammari, who argued that the U.S. itself had planned and carried out 9/11, while placing the blame on a shifting series of others – first Al-Qaeda and the Taliban, then Saddam Hussein's regime in Iraq, and now Saudi Arabia. He wrote that American threats to reveal documents that supposedly point to Saudi involvement in 9/11 are part of standard U.S. policy of exposing archival documents to use as leverage against various countries – which he calls "victory by means of archives."

Following are excerpts from Al-Shammari's article:[3]

"Those who follow American policy see that it is built upon the principle of advance planning and future probabilities. This is because it occasionally presents a certain topic to a country that it does not wish [to bring up] at that time but [that it is] reserving in its archives as an ace to play [at a later date] in order to pressure that country. Anyone revisiting... [statements by] George H.W. Bush regarding Operation Desert Storm might find that he acknowledged that the U.S. Army could have invaded Iraq in the 1990s, but that [the Americans] had preferred to keep Saddam Hussein around as a bargaining chip for [use against] other Gulf states. However, once the Shi'ite wave began to advance, the Americans wanted to get rid of Saddam Hussein, since they no longer saw him as an ace up their sleeve.

"September 11 is one of winning cards in the American archives, because all the wise people in the world who are experts on American policy and who analyze the images and the videos [of 9/11] agree unanimously that what happened in the [Twin] Towers was a purely American action, planned and carried out within the U.S. Proof of this is the sequence of continuous explosions that dramatically ripped through both buildings... Expert structural engineers demolished them with explosives, while the planes crashing [into them] only gave the green light for the detonation – they were not the reason for the collapse. But the U.S. still spreads blame in all directions. [This policy] can be dubbed 'victory by means of archives.'

"On September 11, the U.S. attained several victories at the same time, that [even] the hawks [who were at that time] in the White House could not have imagined. Some of them can be enumerated as follows:

"1. The U.S. created, in public opinion, an obscure enemy – terrorism – which became what American presidents blamed for all their mistakes, and also became the sole motivation for any dirty operation that American politicians and military figures desire to carry out in any country. [The] terrorism [label] was applied to Muslims, and specifically to Saudi Arabia.

"2. Utilizing this incident [9/11], the U.S. launched a new age of global armament. Everyone wanted to acquire all kinds of weapons to defend themselves and at the same time battle the obscure enemy, terrorism – [even though] up to this very moment we do not know the essence of this terrorism of which the U.S. speaks, except [to say that] that it is Islamic...

"3. The U.S. made the American people choose from two bad options: either live peacefully [but] remain exposed to the danger of death [by terrorism] at any moment, or starve in safety, because [the country's budget will be spent on sending] the Marines even as far as Mars to defend you.

"Lo and behold, today, we see these archives revealed before us: A New York court accuses the Iranian regime of responsibility for 9/11, and we [also] see a bill [in Congress] accusing Saudi Arabia of being behind it [sic]. This is after the previous Iraqi regime was accused of being behind it. Al-Qaeda and the Taliban were also blamed for it, and we do not know who [will be blamed] tomorrow! But [whoever it is], we will not be surprised at all, since this is the essence of how the American archives, that are civilized and respect freedoms and democracy, operate.

"The nature of the U.S. is that it cannot exist without an enemy... [For example,] after a period during which it did not fight anyone [i.e. following World War II], the U.S. created a new kind of war – the Cold War... Then, when the Soviet era ended, after we Muslims helped the religions and fought Communism on their [the Americans'] behalf, they began to see Muslims as their new enemy! The U.S. saw a need for creating a new enemy – and planned, organized, and carried this out [i.e. blamed Muslims for terrorism]. This will never end until it [the U.S.] accomplishes the goals it has set for itself.

"So why not let these achievements be credited to the American administration, while insurance companies pay for the damages, whether domestic or foreign? This, my dear Arab and Muslim, is the policy of the American archives."

De militaire basis in Chili bijvoorbeeld. En in Honduras staat een van de belangrijkste VS basissen van het continent. Alleen kijkend naar LA. Afrika lijkt me ook onderschat. In totaal heeft de VS meer dan 800 basissen buiten haar territorium. En ze zijn er nog aan het bij bouwen. China heeft er 1 in Djibouti, naast de Franse en de VS basis. En voor de rest een paar op het water gewonnen riffen in de zuid Chinese zee. En zelfs dat wordt dan al voorgesteld als een agressie. Twee maten twee gewichten duidelijk.
