All is well with the war in Iraq (Alles gaat prima prima met de oorlogin Irak)
While the media are focused on the security in Baghdad they keep
ignoring what is happening with the oil production in Iraq. Well, everything is great, and as a result the gas-prices keep dropping at the pump. Just in time for the upcoming elections. Terwijl de media zich blindstaren op het geweld in Bagdad en omstreken is heerst er een oorverdovende stilte wat betreft de olie productie in Irak. Welnu: het gaat buitengewoon voorspoedig: voormalig Halliburton CEO Dick Cheney kan dik tevreden zijn http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2003/...in575356.shtml http://www.timesnow.tv/articleshow/133571.cms Security and confidence in Iraq may be deteriorating but one aspect of the country is nearly returning to prewar levels — oil production. As violence rages in many places, the number one cash earner for the war-torn nation pumps on. He said the oil sector, which accounts for about 70 percent of Iraq's GDP and 90 percent of its national income, will get a boost by a new hydrocarbon law expected by the end of the year that will provide further guarantees for foreign investors. http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?p...CBk&refer=asia Iraq will increase its oil production to 3.5 million barrels a day by next year, with the capacity to export 2.4 million barrels a day, al-Shahristani said. The increased oil output will not be curtailed by the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, or OPEC, because Iraq has been producing less than its quota for many years, he said. ``Our friends at OPEC understand Iraq needs to produce more oil quickly,'' he said. ``The general position is to allow Iraq to produce as much oil as quickly as possible.'' http://www.google.com/search?q='Stability+First':+Newspeak+for+rape+of+I raq |
