Uitwisselingen voor vrede
Stelling: Vriendschapsbanden tussen individuele mensen leiden tot wederzijds begrip over culturen heen. Begrip leidt tot vrede.
Op http://www.exchanges4peace.org is een petitie gelanceerd om dergelijke interculturele uitwisselingen te stimuleren. De volledige engelstalige tekst van de petitie: “We, the undersigned, know that peace and justice require that we extend the hand of friendship across borders, cultures and religions and that knowledge and understanding are needed to nurture these friendships. The nations of the world can promote peace by helping the world’s youth build these friendships. Therefore we call upon the world’s leaders to enable young people everywhere to live and study in cultures other than their own by significantly expanding youth exchange programs. Friendship leads to understanding. Understanding leads to peace. Waarom zou dit trouwens tot de jeugd moeten beperkt blijven?
Is er soms iets tegen internationale vriendschappen tussen 100plus soms? Of niet soms? |

@Basy Lys: De resultaten van de petitie moet je uiteraard met een korrel zout nemen. Niet alleen wat de internettoegang betreft, maar ook wat de bekendheid van de petitie betreft. België heeft in ieder geval procentueel gezien een heeel goed resultaat 8-) |
