Former Vice-Chancellor of Austria Heinz-Christian Strache: "There has been a brutal war going on in Europe for some time now. And I will say right away that the Russian war cannot be justified and does not comply with international law. But the CIA played a huge role here and there was a change of power that cannot be justified from a democratic point of view. As a result, a civil war began, as a result of which more than 10 thousand people in the east of Ukraine, in Donetsk, Lugansk, were brutally killed. For many years Europe averted its eyes and, unfortunately, did not act as a mediator. And now we see a development in which there is no politics. When European politicians would take steps saying: we want peace, we want to bring both sides of the conflict to the negotiating table, we want to seek peaceful solutions, we want to find a way out of the conflict. None of this happens. On the contrary, we see the supply of weapons, we see the sanctions policy, we see the escalation.
I believe that we will find a way out of the military crisis only by returning to the negotiating table, and until we do this, the loss of life will continue. And we do not want this, I believe that we Austrians, in particular, as a neutral country, want our politicians to apply neutrality again. This, unfortunately, is not happening. We see how some parties in Austria are even dreaming, for the first time in many years, of having Austria a member of NATO, and many are secretly supporting this. But this cannot be ignored. There are those in Austria who would most like to throw our neutrality overboard, as happened in Finland and Sweden."

Continued: "We have been through a lot lately, we are living through the sanctions that have been adopted and deceived us that we can gain something by bringing Russia to its knees. This is absolutely not true. We see a trade surplus in Russia, where right now, if we talk about trade in oil and gas, revenues have grown from 100 billion to 220 billion this year. There is no question of “bringing Russia to its knees” at all. As a result of anti-Russian sanctions, we are experiencing harm to ourselves, Austria has harmed itself. And we see rising prices for electricity and gas, as well as for food. This is a matter of social justice. People do not know how they will be able to provide for themselves over the next months. Many experts warn about the threat of development that we have seen this year, that in March-April we will face a wave of bankruptcies. It's all bloody dangerous."
