Als linkse politicus (en een van de weinigen die echt durft opkomen voor de Europese belangen mbt de Nato Rusland oorlog), heeft Wagenknecht een aantal interessante opinies rond wokeness:

Citaat:
The politician on lifestyle leftism, politically correct language and the new moralism
Sahra Wagenknecht: "Today's left-liberalism is neither left nor liberal"
"This is the core of the ideology of the lifestyle left: that you exaggerate a lifestyle into a political statement and look down on everyone who doesn't live, eat, think and talk like you do."
Sahra Wagenknecht is a Leftist," the Swiss newspaper Blick.ch headlines on her interview with the popular politician. In the interview itself, she takes on the conceit of the lifestyle left, not without first saying what it means to her to be left-wing.

For Sahra Wagenknecht, being left-liberal means "getting involved in politics for the people who have it hard". The Left Party member of parliament calls for "educational opportunities for all, fair wages and decent pensions (and) social security" at the start of 2023.

Wagenknecht is sharply critical of the lifestyle left. There she sees "a lifestyle exaggerated into a political statement" and a clientele that looks down on those "who do not live, eat, think and talk like themselves". Sahra Wagenknecht considers this "moral contempt" to be "a real social problem".

Another aspect, she says, is the posing as an educator. And where Wagenknecht speaks of lifestyle leftists, she means those who gather under the banner of wokeness:

"The new ideal is the right life according to the doctrine of the lifestyle left."

Among other things, this leads to the fact that we are witnessing the end of liberal debates with different opinions and the "resurgence of a moralism that only knows two predicates: good and evil".

For Sahra Wagenknecht, the idea behind gendering that one can change social reality at the same time by changing the language is simply completely out of touch with life. And politically correct language, which includes so-called gender-equitable language, is for her a language code "to distinguish and set oneself apart from the common people".

But no one should let themselves be terrorised by self-appointed language policemen. The language belongs to everyone! Sarah Wagenknecht thinks so and summarises the most important contents for her in her following Facebook post:

Everyone can ride a cargo bike to the organic food shop, stock up on high-quality food and be happy about having an electric second car at home that, in the best case, is even powered by the new solar panels on the roof - but no one should believe that they are the better person because of it. Today's left-liberalism is neither left nor liberal, but the ideology of a well-off academic urban milieu. It reflects the lifeworld and interests of this privileged class in a sometimes rather arrogant form. As a result, the everyday problems of most people are no longer addressed, neither in the media nor in politics. That is why many turn away from politics, no longer inform themselves, no longer vote or vote right out of anger. The more non-voters, the more unstable democracy becomes! After all, democracy is supposed to be there for the many and not for the few.
