btw Tesla maakt sinds 2e kwartaal 2022 ook een kleine winst op het non-automotive deel, daar waar in het verleden altijd een klein verlies was.
In 2022 haalden ze
+ $ 499 miljoen Gross Profit non-automotive.

One notable thing that I just noticed is the profitability of the "non-automotive" part of the company. If you compare the 2021 Automotive Gross Profit ($13,839M) to the Total Gross Profit ($13,606M), you can see that the non-automotive portion represented a loss of $233M. On the other hand, the 2022 Automotive Gross Profit ($20,354M) was less than the Total Gross Profit ($20,853M), which means that the non-automotive portion finally turned a profit of $499M. $255M of that profit came in just the 4th quarter. This is undoubtedly due to the "gross profit growth in other parts of the business" that was called out in the investor deck. To me, that means that Megapacks are finally ramped up to the level where they generate some serious profits from the 6,541 MWh of storage deployed. That is a 64% increase YoY. 4Q storage deployment increased 152% YoY 2022 vs. 2021.
Cost of Revenues for Energy Generation and Storage versus Revenue for the same also shows profitability for that sector of the company only since Q2-2022. Prior to that, the cost of revenue was higher than the actual revenues.
