(Mijn verontschuldigingen voor het Engels.)
Forza Nuova (FN - New Force) was founded in 1997 (on sept. 28th, St. Michael Archangel’s day) under the leadership of Roberto Fiore and Massimo Morsello. The movement tried right from the beginning to avoid the mistakes made by all other existing rightwing associations. Some of these were just small cultural groups, unable to express a real political activity. Others, although more active, had a confused ideology or lacked discipline, were often paralyzed by internal divisions and frictions thus becoming easy victims of the System through infiltration, provocation or repression.
Therefore the founders of the new organization decided that Forza Nuova was to incarnate a few basic, essential characteristics:
- a militant spirit expressed in direct street activity to avoid any moderate deviation;
- a total internal unity (no internal currents or factions, absolute faith in Roberto Fiore’s leadership);
- a firm, uncompromising ideology summarized in the so called "8 Points":
1. ban abortion;
2. protect and support family as the fundamental cell of society, increase the birth rate;
3. stop immigration, start repatriation of all non European immigrants;
4. destruction of freemasonry and other similar sects, expulsion of foreign military personnel from the Country;
5. ban usury and break the present banking system through a new "people’s money";
6. reintroduce the 1929 Concordate between Church and State;
7. cancel the present repressive, antifascist and antinational "thought control" laws;
8. reorganize State and society according to the principles of revolutionary corporatism.
The organization has recruited some local groups, activists from other parties but also young people with no previous political experience. All were encouraged to start action as soon as possible even in the case of very small and isolated cells, because street activity is fundamental in spreading revolutionary ideals but also in creating and shaping the activists’ militant spirit.
The basic strength of the movement has gradually increased from a few hundreds members with 5 local offices in 1997 to thousands with about 60 offices in 2004.
Forza Nuova has parallel associations for University and high school students, has created embryos of workers’ corporations, offers special free summer holidays to dozens of children from proletarian families and cooperates with a nationalist trade union.
FN publishes a monthly paper (Forza Nuova - Foglio di Lotta) together with other minor, local or specialist publications. A cultural review is about to be started while the new Edizioni dell’Arcangelo has been set up for editing books.
In 2004, FN has formed an electoral alliance with other nationalist parties called Alternativa Sociale.
