In 1999 werd een studie door de CDC uitgevoerd, onder leiding van Thomas Verstraeten (ja, een Belg), waarbij een grote groep tegen hepatitis-B gevaccineerden werd vergeleken met een controle-groep. Er was een stijging van 1135% op te merken inzake gevallen van autisme bij de groep gevaccineerden.
Dus haalde men alle mensen die de diagnoise autisme uit de groep, en hield men enkel de kinderen over die te jong waren om al gediagnosticeerd te worden. Baby's in essentie.

Een simpele google search leert dat Verstraeten niet voor het CDC werkte en dat het artikel van Kennedy vol fouten stond en teruggetrokken werd.
Voor de rest werd het hele verhaal door de internet antivaxxers weer helemaal verdraaid.
