Usury does not mean high interest. It means any interest, however low, demanded for an unproductive loan. In ieder geval ben je in goed gezelschap van Plato. Plato groeide op in het oude Athene maar stond vijandig tegenover haar toenmalige democratische staatsvorm die onder Pericles haar toppunt kende. Plato sympathiseerde met de rivaal Sparta die zich keerde tegen elke vorm van democratie en opkwam voor tribalisme, traditionalisme en authenticiteit, het toonbeeld van de gesloten samenleving.
