Hamas have been known on occasion to steal aid, that Israel has allowed into the Gaza strip.
In January 09, Hamas raided 100 aid trucks that Israel had allowed into Gaza, stole the contents and sold them to the highest bidders. [49] In February 09 Hamas was found to have seized aid from UNRWA multiple times, including blankets, food, and 10 trucks of aid. Hamas later returned the items to UNRWA. [50] Also in February, the IDF discovered that medicine bottles they had allowed into Gaza had been taken by Hamas and used to make grenades, by filling them with explosives and attaching a fuse. [51] In June 09 there were reports that Hamas was stealing aid by force, shooting at humanitarian trucks and stealing items such as flour and medicine, and then selling the supplies to desperate Gazans.
