Neen, dat had je onmogelijk kunnen doen. Op dat moment was je beperkt tot de informatie die er toen rondging. Uit die informatie kon je bijv. afleiden dat verschillende wapenexperten rapporten uitbrachten waaruit bleek dat er een gegronde reden was om aan te nemen dat er WMD's aanwezig konden zijn in Irak. De Amerikaanse president had toen de keuze om iets te doen met die informatie, of om ze compleet te negeren. Gegeven de informatie die hij toen had, heeft hij de juiste keuze gemaakt. Ik zou zeer bezorgd zijn mocht één van de machtigste politieke figuren een andere beslissing dan de zijne hebben genomen.

U vertelt onzin. De inspecteurs van de VN en van het IAEA hebben ook toen al gesteld dat Irak geen WMD had en dat er niets op wees dat ze daarmee bezig waren.

Soit, ik zou hier heel de voorgeschiedenis en de aanloop tot de oorlog tegen Irak kunnen quoten maar het komt er kortweg op neer dat Irak geen WMD had, geen project om er te produceren, zich neerlegde bij de inspecties en dat alle betrokkenen dat wisten. Irak had evenmin een verband met Al Qaida. Dat zijn de feiten.
Wat Iran betreft: Mevr. Clinton is onderweg naar Oekraïne, Azerbadzjan, Armenië en Georgië. De landen dus die in het Noorden aan Iran grenzen en waar Iran een aanval vreest.
