In acht genomen vorige opmerking ivm de relatieve ongedefinierdheid van het begrip anarchisme toch het volgende.
Anarchisme is m.i. niet hetzelfde als liberalisme (alhoewel het die vorm kan aannemen indien nodig). Anarchisme en liberalisme kunnen zelfs tegenover elkaar staan zoals tijdens de Spaanse burgeroorlog:

Dat is omdat anarchisme een machtssysteem is dat vrijheidsbeperkende accumulatie van macht verwerpt (of beter hoogstens als een instrument beschouwd) (daarom is het ook zo moeilijk te vatten) in tegenstelling tot al die andere machtsystemen, inclusief liberalisme.
