The volume of exports from Germany has increased by 100% between 2005 – 2009. Its share of the global market rose from 6% to 11% within these years. The reason for these increases was due to exports to European destinations.
Greece and Turkey accounted for nearly one third of German exports. In the past number of years both of these countries have received Leopard – 2A4 tanks and licensed produced Type -214 submarines. Also, between 2005 - 2009, Germany accounted for 20% of all South Korean arms imports and 35% of imports to Greece.
