Forbes magazine names the world's top 500 billionaires in its latest magazine - but this time with a new category encompassing the rogue rich and spotlighting the illicit use of Palestinian Authority money by its leader.
Yasser Arafat, PA Chairman, made Forbes' list in the new category reserved for "kings, queens, and despots." Arafat placed sixth, while Saudi Arabia's King Fahd topped the list at $20 billion, and Saddam Hussein was fourth with $2 billion.
In the past, Forbes has kept some rich off the list because, "they don't exactly represent success stories of entrepreneurial capitalism."
Now Arafat, Hussein and Cuban President Fidel Castro, worth $110 million, can be counted under this new category.
With a personal fortune of at least $300 million stashed in Swiss banks, Forbes wrote that Arafat has "feasted on all sorts of funds flowing into the PA, including aid money, Israeli tax transfers, and revenue from a casino and Coca-Cola bottler."
