Opinions Are Like Assholes… Everybody Has One and They All STINK.
We’ve all heard the above aphorism at one or many points in our lives, usually after expressing a controversial belief or a personal stance on a contentious topic. The maxim, which is more of a pithy insult t...han a philosophical commentary, is usually hurled loudly and assertively at us as a kind of preemptive attack that renders any other points of view… pointless. The individual who tends to invoke the “Opinions Are Like Assholes” spell the most often– in debates, minor arguments, and even casual conversation– might seem like a huge asshole himself, as his own opinion that opinions are like assholes is a truly assholish opinion, indeed.

The anti-opinion individual opining against everybody else’s opinions and assholes isn’t so much an asshole as an excitable ass who enjoys stubbornly ramming his or her head (or ass) against the soft pates of those who honestly think their opinions matter any more than their assholes.

In other words, the person who declares that all opinions save his own figuratively stink as much as assholes literally stink is correct in his declaration and true of heart. One who speaks the truth and truly believes in truth cannot be an asshole. He can only be an ass. Actually, that’s wrong. He cannot be an ass. He can only be an asshole.

Now, if the asshole who thinks opinions are like assholes is a real asshole, he’ll explain why everybody who has an opinion, i.e., everybody who has a stinky asshole, should keep their goddamn mouths and assholes shut. The following example might help you understand how this works…
Person with an Opinion: “I think religious extremists are–”
Asshole: “Opinions are like assholes: everybody has one and they all stink.”
Person with an Opinion: “But all I was–”
Asshole: “Your breath smells like shit because your opinion is like an asshole. We all have assholes, and I know from experience that they stink. My asshole stinks, and so does my wife’s. Thus, your opinion stinks and, thus, it is not dissimilar to other opinions. I do not like opinions.”
Person with an Opinion: “…”
Asshole: “Fuck you and your opinion. Stay quiet and maybe I won’t hatefist your asshole, from which your opinions explode like logorrheic diarrhea.”

Asshole: “That’s right, you little bitch.”
See how the asshole explained why the Person with an Opinion should keep his goddamn mouth and asshole shut? That’s a real asshole, right there!

Except porn stars’ assholes.
Porn stars use enemas frequently, bleach their anuses, and take powerful, powerful showers in between scenes. It only makes sense that, out of everybody in the world, the assholes of porn stars are the cleanest. And so it follows that their opinions are the best. Thus, porn stars are the smartest people on Earth, and we would all do well to heed their advice and, indeed, respect their opinions.
