Feit is dat alle wetenschappers die bevestigen dat het virus van natuurlijke oorsprong is enkel speculaties kunnen uiten welk het tussendier was tussen vleermuis en mens. In hun theorie kan het virus niet rechtstreeks van vleermuis naar mens zijn gegaan.
