Het zou natuurlijk kunnen. Maar o wee als het uitkomt...
Edoch, er iets wat niet klopt. Het observeren van zulke tuigen is een zeer oud verhaal. Nog niet zo lang geleden gaf het Britse Ministry of Defence -onder druk van de publieke opinie en de politiek- een hele reeks ufo-files vrij. Een van de eerste en betrouwbare officiële documenten over ufo’s dat ‘classified’ werd (en nu vrijgegeven dus) , was de getuigenis van een Brits militair: Flight Lieutenant John Kilburn over wat hij zag in september 1952, een mooie en zonnige dag volgens het verslag. Ik geef het verhaal zoals het ons wordt verteld in het boekje van David Clark.
“Flight Lieutenant John Kilborn was standing on the airfield at RAF Topcliffe in Nordt Yorkshire, alongside a troup of Shacketon aircrew from 269 squadron. There were among 80.000 military personnel from eight countries who were part of a massive NATO exercise, code-named Mainbrace, that was to simulate a Soviet attack on the west.. Gazing skywards Kilburn spottted a Meteor-jet (1) approching the airfield at 5000 feet. Then one of his colleagues noticed something extraordinary: a silver circular object much higher in de sky that appeared following the Meteor. Initially de man thought a parachute or piece of engine couwling had detached itszelf from the aircraft. But then, suddenly, the object descended ‘swinging in a pendular motion… similar to a falling sycamore leaf’ towards the jet. It began rotating on his own axis befor it accelerated away to the west at a speed ‘in excess of that of a shooting star’.”
Clarke vervolgt:
“
I have never seen such a phenomenon before’ Kilburn reported. ‘The movements of the objec were not identifiable with anything I have seen in the air en the rate of acceleration was unbelievable’ (2).
His one-page statement has taken its place among the documents at TheNational Archives. It was one of the first accounts of an unexplained sighting to be entered into gouvernement’s records."

Eigenlijk meldt vlieger Luitenant John Kilburn hetzelfde als wat de Amerikaanse piloten nu melden. Alleen meldde Kilburn het
69 jaar eerder.
