Standaard Evaluatie getuigen Pentagon

In wat volgt zit een (lang) relaas met analyse van de getuigenissen die de aanslag op het Pentagon hebben meegemaakt in hun verklaring van het gebruik van de vliegtuigen.

Ik hoop dat deze oefening zowel voor believers als non-believers een interessant leesvoer vormt. Mijn excuses voor schrijffouten

4 groepen werden geïdentificeerd:
In groep 1 worden de getuigenissen ondergebracht die geen vliegtuig hebben gezien. De meesten waren werknemers die zich in het Pentagon bevonden en door de knal betrokken raakten.

In groep 2 worden de getuigenissen ondergebracht die melding maken van een vliegtuig zonder de grootte te vermelden. Er wordt enkel melding gemaakt van volgende woorden: Jet - Plane - Aircraft

In groep 3 worden de getuigenissen ondergebracht die melding maken van een klein vliegtuig. Er wordt melding gemaakt van volgende woorden: small aircraft - mid sized - small commercial aircraft - commuter jet

In groep 4 worden de getuigenissen ondergebracht die melding maken van een groot vliegtuig. Er wordt melding gemaakt van volgende woorden: jetliner – 767 - 757 - 737 - Airbus - Large American Airways passenger jet - big silver plane - commercial plane

Analyse van alle getuigenissen geeft volgend resultaat:
Groep 1: 66 getuigen 43%
Groep 2: 57 getuigen 38%
Groep 3: 21 getuigen 14%
Groep 4: 8 getuigen 5%

Verder in dit relaas wordt dieper ingegaan op de 21 getuigen van groep 3 waar waarschijnlijk nog heel wat voer voor discussie is terug te vinden, maar eerst een aantal andere resultaten van de analyse van de getuigenissen:

A. 6 getuigen spreken van FLIGHT 77, wat wil zeggen dat deze mensen reeds geïnformeerd waren over de details via de media: Flicht 77, Boeing 757, American airways, ... zoniet is het onmogelijk te weten over welke ‘flicht number’ het handelt wanneer een vliegtuig overvliegt.

B. Opmerkelijk hoeveel getuigen een snelheid weten te kleven op het aanstormende vliegtuig
- 300 miles an hour 482 km/h
- 250 to 300 knots 463 tot 555 km/h
- 400 miles an hour 643 km/h
- 350 and 400 knots 648 km/h tot 740 km/h
- about 500 miles an hour 805 km/h
Deze schattingen zijn afhankelijk van de plaats maar tonen vooral aan hoe voorzichtig men dient om te springen met ooggetuigenverklaringen

C. In de getuigenissen wordt melding gemaakt van verscheidene soorten Boeings én een Airbus

4. A320 34.09 m - 37.57 m
De Boeing die volgens de officiële berichten het Pentagon heeft geraakt is de 757. In het begin werd gemeld dat het gat in de muur ongeveer 15 m. was, later gecorrigeerd tot 19.5 m.

D. Er wordt gebruik gemaakt van zowel American Airline als American Airways, dit terwijl American Airways van naam veranderde tot American Airlines in 1934.

E. 11 getuigen maakten melding van een C-130 die enkele seconden tot enkele minuten ná de impact van hoog in de lucht in sterke daling kwam aangevlogen. Een aantal getuigen dachten aan een tweede fataal vliegtuig, maar plots nam de C-130 een wending en vloog weg. Ook een F15 werd gemeld.

F. 5 getuigen meldden dat het landingsgestel nog ingetrokken was, terwijl 1 getuige meldde dat een wiel van het gestel een paal raakte

G. Er zijn verschillende getruigenissen over het moment van de impact, de kleur van de rook, een aantal explosies kort na de impact

H. Een aantal tegenstrijdigheden, apparte interpretaties of rare samenloop van omstandigheden. (Ik heb getracht sommige fragmenten zo kort mogelijk weer tegeven, alles is copy paste):

… Then a gray C-130 flew overhead, setting off a new round of panic. I tried to reassure people that the plane was not a threat …

Camera’s

Velasquez says the gas station's security cameras are close enough to the Pentagon to have recorded the moment of impact. "I've never seen what the pictures looked like," he said. "The FBI was here within minutes and took the film."

It is interesting to note that all three of these reports chose the same Timmerman quote in partnership with what appears to be a pre-set script from authorities. And a similar pairing was also made by the SF Gate on Sept 12

although this chose to paraphrase Timmerman, rather quote him directly. Timmerman was only interviewed once and his dramatic description of the crash was quickly co-opted into the official mythology.
Over Tim Timmerman vindt men veel informatie terug. Ik heb niet kunnen achterhalen wanneer hij zou gestorven zijn, maar zelfs op CNN wordt er gewag gemaakt van zijn ‘verdwijning’. Er wordt veelvuldig geclaimd dat zijn uitgebreidde verklaring niet strookt met de werkelijkheid en past in een opgezet stukje theater. De plaats die hij beschrijft als zijnde zijn woonplaats zou niet 100% stroken met wat hij kon gezien hebben, zijn terminologie zou opmerkelijk gelijklopend zijn met een aantal persberichten door officiële kanalen kort na de aanslag. Ik heb (nog) niet de tijd gehad dit van naderbij te onderzoeken.

Middleton, William Sr.

… The worker, William Middleton Sr., was running his street sweeper through the cemetery when he heard a harsh whistling sound overhead. Middleton looked up and spotted a commercial jet whose pilot seemed to be fighting with his own craft. Middleton said the plane was no higher than the tops of telephone poles as it lurched toward the Pentagon. The jet accelerated in the final few hundred yards before it tore into the building … less than a mile away at the Pentagon …

ALGEMEEN BESLUIT

A. Van de 21 resterende getuigen die gewag maakten van een groot vliegtuig waren er minimum 13 die gevoelig kunnen genoemd worden.
Ongeveer in volgorde van gevoeligheid:
1 Medisch expert – 1 politieman van het Pentagon - 1 brandweer van het Pentagon
1 Marine Officier – 1 Kapitein bij het Amerikaanse leger
4 Journalisten voor Navy – USAToday (2x) – NRO
3 werknemers van BMDO (Ballistic Missile Defense Organization) die reeds geheime opdrachten hebben vervuld voor het Amerikaanse leger.
1 Uitgever van de belangrijkste neo-conservatieve literatuur in de US en bekend bij Bush Jr.

B. Van de 8 resterende getuigen ligt er één zwaar onder vuur omtrend betrouwbaarhaid, maar aangezien ik nog niet in dat deel van de US geweest ben kan ik er mij totaal geen beeld van vormen of zijn verklaring inderdaad grote gaten bevast of niet.

C. De 7 laatsten vormen een gediversifieerde groep waarvan geen enkele notie gemaakt heeft van een Boeing 757 (1 vermelding van 737). Ik heb niet meer informatie gevonden van deze personen, dus indien iemand geïnteresserd is, ga uw gang.

Men dient in eerste instantie al te identificeren dat ‘slechts’ 14% van een aanzienlijke groep getuigen een groot vliegtuig heeft vermeld in hun relaas.
Stel, worse case scenario, dat de 13 met gevoelige beroepen en die ene onder vuur (en misschien de grond) liggende getuige niet betrouwbaar worden gevonden door de rechtbank. Dan resulteert dit in 7/151 = 4.6% van alle getuigen of 7/85 = 8.2% van de getuigen die een vliegtuig gezien hebben.

Ik meen te kunnen besluiten met het feit dat:
A. het niet betrouwbaar is om alleen op ooggetuigen verder te gaan (cfr Knipp & Firestone)
B. het deel van bewijslast aangebracht door ooggetuigen maar een mager beestje is.
C. er redelijk veel voer tot discussie is over de ooggetuigen die bevestigden dat er sprake was van een groot vliegtuig en niet kunnen losgekoppeld worden van één of andere verbintenis.
