Electric cars make up an increasing share of new car sales, but most car owners have many questions when considering the transition to an electric car.
How far does the car go on one charge?
And how fast does it charge?
There are two key questions that are difficult to answer with two dashes below. Weather and driving conditions strongly affect the figures. And also: The topography of the stretch of road can have quite dramatic effects, especially because electric cars regenerate and get more energy when driving downhill.
Our tests are also not a conclusion you can put two lines under, but they give an indication of how the many cars perform under comparable conditions. Do not use them for more than indications.

HOW WE TEST: We run the test with a selection of relevant cars every six months, winter and summer, on the same route: A loop through Oslo, up Rv4 to Gjøvik, from there E6 up to Hjerkinn, then east and around Rondane over Venabygdsfjellet, down to Ringebu and up the E6 again. The cars are driven at the speed limit until they are empty of power.
The range test winter 2022
31 cars were involved, and no one managed WLTP range, naturally enough, even though it was not freezing cold. There were no major surprises in this test.
