Parcifal, ben je zeker van die HIMARS ? Voor zover ik weet is daarover nog geen definitieve beslissing gevallen omdat een deel van het pentagon er tegen is om Ukraine wapensystemen te geven die hen zouden toelaten om toe te slagen op russisch territorium.
Nu, als ze er zouden komen gaat dat de Ukrainers eindelijk de middelen bezorgen om russische artillerie uit te schakelen voordat die in actie kunnen treden. Russen hebben de middelen om vanaf 50 km afstand barrages af te vuren, een capaciteit waartegen Ukraine nu niets heeft.

De beslissing is nog niet gevallen, er zijn wel signalen te horen dat die HIMARS er komt, maar we zijn uiteraard pas zeker als ze er zijn.
Ik denk dat er wel een aantal condities/modificaties zullen aan verbonden zijn om te verhinderen dat de Oekraieners bewust Belgorod, Bryansk of Koersk gaan beschieten.
Maar als ze Donetsk of Lugansk zouden willen beschieten moet dat uiteraard kunnen.

Some of the latest video to emerge from the war-torn nation shows Russia bombarding Ukrainian positions with next-generation warheads known as vacuum bombs. Russia's overwhelming artillery advantage has allowed its forces to capture more territory in Donbas this week.
CBS News correspondent Imtiaz Tyab says the town of Popasna is a clear example of what a Russian "victory" in Ukraine looks like. The town is just over 10 miles south of the twin cities of Severodonetsk and Lysychansk, which Russia is trying hard to capture. Popasna was recently taken by pro-Russian troops, and it's now in ruins, with the remains of the dead still lying in the streets.
