French people resent the increasing importance of English, which is likely to remain the lingua franca. Brexit won't spell the end of English as an official EU language. Besides everyone speaks it as a second language.
There will be less of a political reason to resist the global primacy of English, which is more regarded as a more or less neutral language.
French-speakers need to bear this in mind when trying to impose French on us ...
