En nu heeft de Australische regering dat stopgezet.....Ze gaan nu TOCH voor nucleaire duikboten,maar met Brits/Amerikaanse technologie en toeleveranciers.......De Fransen zijn in 24 uur tijd helemaal "uit de loop" geschopt....(bemerk dat de Fransen evengoed nucleair aangedreven duikboten kunnen bouwen hé?)
De Franse regering vraagt zich openlijk (en eigenlijk wel wat terecht) af wat de waarde van bondgenootschappen is,om aldus behandeld te worden....

Het lijkt er sterk op dat de Aussies de onderhandelingen met VS en GB niet alleen geheim hielden, maar zelfs hun best deden om de Fransen te misleiden, door een verregaande militaire samenwerking voor te stellen die Frankrijk de belangrijkste militaire partner na de VS zou maken.

The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age can reveal Australia and France have begun negotiations to significantly upgrade military co-operation, which would boost inter-operability between their forces.

The negotiations could elevate France’s defence relationship with Australia to second only behind the United States, which has a rotational force of about 2500 Marines deployed in Darwin.
Australia is also set to formally agree with the French company building the government’s 12 new attack-class submarines on its plan for the next 2½ years of the program, allowing for the pressure hull for the first boat to be built as early as 2024.
Multiple senior sources within the government, who were not authorised to speak publicly, confirmed the agreement was set to be formally locked in by the end of the next week.

Die onderhandelingen voerden ze dus tot enkele weken geleden, toen ze ongetwijfeld al wisten dat ze het contract zouden verbreken.
