Niks nieuws onder de zon trouwens, want de Russen hebben al sinds 2008 een basis in Tartus. Er komen dus regelmatig Russische schepen in Syrische territoriale wateren. Net zoals er regelmatig Amerikaanse schepen en ander oorlogstuig langskomen bij hun bondgenoten.
