De Katholieke kerk heeft ook tot 1965, het tweede Vaticaanse Concilie, geleerd dat kinderen die ongedoopt sterven niet zalig zijn of worden. Dat werd niet meer gepikt door het kerkvolk, want men kan hen niet meer wijsmaken dat kinderen schuldig worden geboren. Dat komt neer op de totale verwerping van het dogma van de erfzonde en de sacrementen. De clerus weet zich geen raad en gebruikt "speculatieve theologie" om zich te handhaven. De idee van de heiligheid van ongeboren menselijk leven is dan ook volslagen ketters.
