Justinus beweert nog meer in zijn eerste Apologie:

Which the wicked devils have imitated in the mysteries of Mithras, commanding the same thing to be done. For, that bread and a cup of water are placed with certain incantations in the mystic rites of one who is being initiated, you either know or can learn. "


Justinus zou toch moeten weten dat de Mythras-cultus heel wat ouder is dan zijn kerk. De kans is dus even groot dat de christenen heel die bedoening hebben overgenomen van de Mythras-rituelen.

Justinus zal dat niet hebben geschreven. Zoals gezegd: volkomen misplaatste informatie in een apologie. De kerk heeft haar bronnen zelf gefabriceerd.
