Wat ik bedoel is dat de redenering dat indien er fraude tegen Trump zou geweest zijn die ook voor de senaat zou gebeurd zijn weinig steek houdt.

Ik had het eerder over dat er heel veel gepraat en geroepen wordt over fraude maar dat er niet veel gezegd geweest is tot nu toe, als je snapt wat ik bedoel.

Giuliani and fellow Trump lawyers crank out conspiracies as legal challenges implode

The president’s team of attorneys pledged they would reverse the outcome of the 2020 White House race.
They called themselves an “elite strike force team.” But the madcap news conference by President Donald Trump’s attorneys on Thursday afternoon was more campaign farce than cogent legal argument, as Rudy Giuliani offered several conspiracy theories and a litany of false claims that he pledged would reverse the outcome of the 2020 White House race.

“I guess we’re the senior lawyers,” Giuliani told a packed room of reporters inside the Republican National Committee headquarters in Washington, D.C., flanked by fellow Trump campaign attorneys Jenna Ellis, Joseph diGenova and Sidney Powell.

In the 90 minutes that followed, the former New York mayor and his colleagues spun a web of mistruths that made mention of the Clinton Foundation, liberal megadonor George Soros and the late Venezuelan strongman Hugo Chávez.

And although Ellis described their remarks as merely an “opening statement” on behalf of the campaign, the discursive briefing — during which streams of what appeared to be hair dye dripped down both sides of Giuliani’s face — betrayed almost immediately the desperation of Trump’s flailing effort to undermine President-elect Joe Biden’s victory.
Just hours earlier on Thursday, the Trump campaign withdrew its last remaining federal lawsuit in Michigan after having no substantive success with similar pieces of litigation across other swing states. Nevertheless, the president’s legal team pushed an alternate political reality at their news conference, which seemed designed primarily to show their boss that they were still fighting on in the face of facts.

Giuliani spoke next to a map of the United States that purported to show “multiple pathways to victory,” with six key battlegrounds highlighted in red: Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. All of those states have been called for Biden, but the president’s personal attorney insisted his client would prevail — all while baselessly claiming that Trump was the victim of a “plan from a centralized place to execute these various acts of voter fraud.”

Giuliani said this scheme had been “specifically focused on big cities” with a “long history of corruption,” all of which were controlled by “Democrat bosses.” Mail-in ballots “are particularly prone to fraud,” he falsely claimed, and the lack of security protocols in some states meant that votes could have been cast by “a dead person” or even “Mickey Mouse.”

“What I’m describing to you is a massive fraud. It isn’t a little, teeny one,” Giuliani said, going on to complain to reporters that “the coverage of this has been almost as dishonest as the scheme itself.”
Trump campaign officials looked on aghast as the circus-like affair unfolded. At one point, the campaign’s own audio livestream of the news conference was interrupted by unknown voices remarking about the hair dye that seemed to be running down Giuliani’s face. The Trump campaign later claimed on Twitter that the people who could be heard mocking the former mayor “were NOT campaign employees.”

Even Fox News’ Tucker Carlson, who hardly shies away from the president’s claims of election malfeasance, said on his Thursday-evening show that his team had reached out to Powell asking for evidence to back up her claims. Carlson told viewers he admires Powell and takes her seriously. But Powell angrily told his team to stop contacting her, he said, and never offered any proof.

Powell did not immediately respond to POLITICO’s request for comment following Carlson’s show.

Still, Trump eagerly promoted the spectacle, tweeting that Americans could tune in to watch his lawyers “on @newsmax, @OANN & maybe @FoxNews. An open and shut case of voter fraud. Massive numbers!”
And despite the length of their news conference, Ellis said that they had offered only a “brief description” of the president’s case. “That happens in a courtroom all the time, where that’s not the fact-finding process. That is just an overview. That is what we have given you today, because the American people deserve to know what we have uncovered in the last couple of weeks. Remember, this is such a short time frame,” she said.

In fact, two weeks have elapsed since Election Day, there is still no evidence to support accusations of mass voter fraud, and the 2020 election has been deemed to be “the most secure in American history” by a group of federal officials, election supervisors and voting technology vendors.

Biden, speaking later in the afternoon, said Trump’s increasingly desperate moves are “totally irresponsible” and greatly damage the United States’ standing globally.

“It’s hard to fathom how this man thinks,” Biden said following a speech in Delaware. “I’m confident he knows he hasn’t won, is not going to be able to win and we’re going to be sworn in January 20th. And I just, you know — far from me to question his motive. It’s just outrageous what he’s doing.”

Top Trump campaign officials who had spent months preparing for post-election litigation, including deputy campaign manager Justin Clark and general counsel Matt Morgan, have taken a backseat as Giuliani has assumed full leadership of the campaign’s legal effort — pursuing a plethora of debunked conspiracy theories alongside Ellis, Powell and others on his squad of attorneys.
Neither Clark nor Morgan were present at the news conference on Thursday. Also notably absent was Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel, even though the event was held in the lobby of party headquarters. Senior Republicans involved in Trump’s reelection effort privately tried to distance themselves from Giuliani’s appearance hours before it even began.

Trump chose to put Giuliani in charge of his legal battle last Friday following a string of courtroom losses. People close to the president saw Giuliani’s promotion as a tacit admission that Trump was going to lose and that he was more interested in pushing a PR narrative that the election was being stolen from him than pursuing further lawsuits.

But senior Trump aides have rolled their eyes over Giuliani’s assertions and have derided his antics — especially his news conference earlier this month outside a Philadelphia landscaping business — as embarrassing. Within the confines of Trump’s Arlington, Va., campaign headquarters, there is growing annoyance over Giuliani’s legal team, which has been described as disorganized and frenzied.

“Short of demonstrated fraud, the notion that presumptively valid ballots cast by the Pennsylvania electorate would be disregarded based on isolated procedural irregularities … thus disenfranchising potentially thousands of voters is misguided,” he wrote.

As for the rest of the Trump campaign’s claims, Aronchick rebutted them all in a 30-minute presentation that rhetorically aimed for Giuliani’s jugular, accusing him at various points of being “ignorant” of the law, living in “some fantasy world,” and perpetuating wild conspiracy theories that were “disgraceful in an American courtroom.”

He argued the campaign had no standing or evidence to pursue its case any further and urged Brann to follow the lead of other judges across the country.

“Please dismiss this case so we can move on to the real business of this country,” Aronchick pleaded with the judge. “We need to get this election certified.”

Another day, another Rudy Giuliani conference — and though this one wasn’t sandwiched between a crematorium and an adult bookstore, it didn’t disappoint in terms of complete and utter farcical madness.

Backgrounded by three American flags and sweating harder than a turkey at Thanksgiving, Rudy took the stage to announce the next twist in the bizarre defense of Donald J Trump: it was all a commie plot from Venezuela. “We use a Venezuelan voting machine to count our votes,” he said. “If we let this happen, we’re gonna become Venezuelan.”

In Michigan, trucks pulled up full of trashcans filled with ballots in the dead of night, he added. Of course, the polling station wasn’t fully deserted, because it was election night; happily, it was staffed with witnesses who came forward to tell Team Trump it had happened. Who are the witnesses? Well, he can’t say, because if we were allowed to know who they are then they would no doubt be subject to “targeted hatred” from Democrats. You’ll just have to take Rudy’s solid-gold word for it, and the word of one of the only lawyers who hasn’t recently quit the Trump team. But those other lawyers only quit “because they were being harassed” anyway, and that’s the media’s fault.

It was at this point that eagle-eyed viewers may have noticed Rudy’s hair dye begin to leak down the side of his face.

Lots of people voted who didn’t exist, he continued. There were “numerous double voters, numerous out-of-state voters. Children voted.” No, we don’t need to show any evidence of it. What are you, a socialist?

“This is a massive fraud, it isn’t a little teeny one,” continued Giuliani, using that watertight courtroom rhetoric we’ve come to expect of him. There’ll be a “major lawsuit filed in Georgia tomorrow”. There’ll be another in Arizona. There’s also going to be one in New Mexico, and one in Virginia. “There are other aspects of the fraud which at this point we can’t reveal,” he continued. But it’s “more than enough to overturn any election.” All of this makes complete sense, because if you have any actual evidence that the bizarre conspiracy theory you’re pushing could be credible, you probably should be modest enough not to reveal it. The thing with objective evidence, rather than speculative theories about communist intervention on a global scale in an American election, is that you really should keep it under your hat. Especially if you’re planning on going to court.

They “put Republicans in pens and corrals,” Giuliani added. It happened in Detroit, Milwaukee, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Atlanta! It didn’t happen in “neutral areas” or “Republican areas”. It was only in traditionally Democratic-voting areas that the votes came in against Donald Trump! If you took those counties away, then states like Georgia would go Republican and Trump would win the election! Doesn’t that seem suspicious to you? Doesn’t that seem like evidence that something’s not right?

“These crooks have stolen an election from Donald Trump,” Rudy added, toweling himself off one last time. “They elected Donald Trump, they didn’t elect Joe Biden.” All through a very simple process of collaborating with multiple communist countries across the world, dumping ballots into polling stations in front of witnesses, and getting 15,000 people per county in every swing state silently involved. I hate to speculate on election fraud but wouldn’t it be a little simpler just to… fudge the numbers? I’m not entirely convinced this is how China does it.

Up next was Sidney Powell, one of the only respectable-seeming people left in the Trump clown car, who wore a leopard-print cardigan and a statement necklace. There’s been a “massive influence of communist money from Venezuela, Cuba and probably China,” she said, adding that the voting machines were made “under the direction of Hugo Chavez”. Antifa was also involved, somehow. Those Venezuelan voting machines are “easily accessible to hackers” and “kids with cellphones,” something Powell learnt about — and you can too! — from “videos on the internet”. But who are the commies, then, Sidney? Is America teeming with left-wing teens compromised by South American leaders who are just waiting to hack into voting machines? What about the trucks of ballots? What about the Republicans in pens? Why did they need to be caged and corralled if the hacker kids were what did it all along? Come on Sidney, give us a narrative!

The idea that Chavez might give Biden a quick call in the months preceding the election is, nevertheless, a fascinating one, not least because he’s been dead since 2013. “I say, Joe, listen, I have a plan you might just love!” he could start out with. Or perhaps, “Listen, Joe, we’ve got your best interests at heart.” Or perhaps he — with Xi Jinping, Miguel Diaz-Canel and Kim Jong-un gathered round, giggling and jostling for position like schoolkids at a sleepover — somewhat sheepishly started out with, “I don’t suppose for a moment…”

Clearly, being the black-balaclava’d socialist renegade that he is, Biden will have jumped at the chance. And he wouldn’t have been at all surprised that zombie Chavez was calling from beyond the grave, because everyone knows communists gain eternal life if they drink the blood of an innocent capitalist during the witching hour.

One imagines that the president-elect replied, “I’ve been waiting for an opportunity to activate the child weapons I created in a lab fifty years ago when Castro and I first discussed it. They’re implanted with expert hacker chips — though of course we won’t actually need them because we already snuck in the Venezuelan voting machines decades earlier.”
