Zoniet, dan verbaast het mij dat een socialist en een politicus nog nooit van Baudrillard heeft gehoord. Hij past in het rijtje van Karl Marx, Friedrich Engels, Vladimir Lenin, Max Weber, Berthold Brecht, Bourdieu, Deleuze, Foucault en Derrida. Heeft u al van deze mensen gehoord?

Baudrillard is hoogstwaarschijnlijk 1 van de belangrijkste denkers van de 20ste eeuw naast mensen zoals Foucault, Sartre en Derrida. Maw, niet echt een persoon dat je moet voorstellen aan Animo.

Ik ben grotendeels akkoord met je inschatting van Baudrillard's belang. En de quote is een mooie.

Dat gezegd zijnde blijft het een feit dat Baudrillard eigenlijk enkel voor socialisten is weggelegd.

Aangezien de SP.a bezwaarlijk socialistisch kan worden genoemd, en eerder neo-liberaal, mag het niet verbazen dat haar pionnen nauwelijks van de man hebben gehoord.

Baudrillard heeft wel 1 grote fout gemaakt in zijn denken: de scheiding tussen onderbouw en bovenbouw is bij hem verdwenen door het consumentisme als algemeen primaat van de samenleving te beschouwen. Wanneer je zijn visie koppelt aan de kapitalistische productiewijze van de onderbouw, dan kan zijn denken ten volle worden gebruikt voor de socialistische zaak.
Dit geldt ook voor de romancier Houellebecq of fenomenologische en existentialistische kritieken van oa. Bachelard en Cassirer.

De intellectuele traditie van de sociaal-democraten is zowat nihil, een teken aan de wand.

Het is bijzonder moeilijk om opgewonden te geraken over het reële of ingebeelde overlijden van iemand die misschien wel of misschien niet echt bestond.
