Bemmetje heeft geen isolatie nodig, haar theelichtbloempotkachel met al zacht gezet worden, anders is die container een sauna.

Waterdichtheid. Da's toch staal, da's toch waterdicht?. Een deur zit er al in. .

Ventilatie en raam. Even de deur openzetten nietwaar.

Elektriciteit en/of verwarming, ook niet zo belangrijk. Licht van de theelichtjes , en de laptop kan ze laden met een zonnepaneel (gemaakt van de paneeltjes uit rekenmachines) tegen de binnenmuur, het theelicht-licht recyclerende. Internet is ook geen probleem, kort genoeg bij de buren is er wel een WiFi verbinding.
Water, een bidon en een grote trechter om regenwater op te vangen, ook goed?
Afvoer sanitair water? Ge moet niet doortrekken bij de McDo hoor. Krijg je ook meer plaats in de container door er geen WC of douche in te voorzien. En anders, een kotteke boven een put, een plank met gat, en een Franse krant.

En wie gaat toelating geven dat je zo een container op zijn grond plaatst ?
Welk lokaal bestuur gaat gedogen dat iemand een illegaal bouwsel neerzet ?

They say their option is also environmentally friendly as the containers do not contain toxic paint or other building materials and their construction saves on waste compared to traditional buildings.

It also has an automatic opening and leveling system enabled by a hydraulic system that is controlled with the press of a button.

7. This Amazon tiny house is really small

Price: $23,000 (plus $4,379.49 shipping)

If the MODS International shipping container house above is too big for your budget you could always opt for its smaller 'brother'. The 20 foot (6 meters) option is more compact, as you'd expect, but has all the features you could need as a single person or young couple on a budget.

It has a total floor space of 160 square foot (49 meters squared) but this is more than enough room to pack in a bed (or bunk bed), little kitchenette and 'ensuite bathroom'. The shipping containers main secure doors include double patio versions behind them and it comes complete with full plumbing connections to an infrastructure underneath.

It is also supplied with side electrical and water connections. The finished product is also offered fully furnished with white goods, decorative flooring, lighting and conditioning plants.

Like its big brother, it is really intended for emergency situations but its high spec. the finish makes it ideal for anyone who wishes to own an eco-friendly, low-cost alternative to traditional housing options.

Of course, your new 'home' will lack any form or fitted heating and cooling, electricity, plumbing, insulation, or indeed, windows. This isn't really an issue if you're an experienced 'outdoorsy' type , after all tents lack all of these features.

They do come with a pair of robust doors to one end but these tend to only be lockable from the outside so internal side security might need some work. However if your a 'shipping container home purist' this option is the only one open to you.

You could always get a dog or build your own form of robotic or a DIY security device for peace of mind whilst you're asleep or away from home.

It will take through common issues to consider, costs to think about and potential pitfalls to take into account on your journey towards your dream 'low cost', former freight container, house.

Of course, a book can only prepare you for the reality of the task at hand so expect the unexpected and, like any investment, make sure you make the appropriate analysis and research prior to spending any hard cash.

Ja lachen jullie maar; feit is dat de maatschappij evolueert, er nieuwe woonvormen ontstaan die niet enkel kleiner/compacter zijn maar ook met een ecologisch minder belastende voetafdruk + ze zijn mobieler én men hangt er niet zonodig z'n bijna hele leven aan vast.

La ville de Liège pourrait étudier la possibilité d'acquérir des conteneurs utilisés pour le transport de marchandises par voie d'eau en vue de les reconvertir en espaces d'accueil pour les personnes sans domicile fixe.

La question de la présence grandissante de SDF ?* Liège est sensible et difficile ?* régler, d'autant plus encore lorsqu'il s'agit de personnes profondément désinsérées qui se montrent opposées ?* toute forme de prise en charge. Mais la réalité est telle qu'il est devenu difficile de traverser le centre-ville sans se faire accoster pour "une petite pièce", plusieurs fois parfois, ou sans voir un SDF couché sous une couverture ?* l'entrée d'un immeuble… Ce n'est plus humainement supportable non seulement pour ces personnes elles-mêmes mais aussi pour les habitants, les passants… Les autorités liégeoises en ont bien conscience et veulent trouver des solutions pour le bien de tous mais se disent parfois impuissantes face ?* certaines situations qui interpellent l'opinion publique, comme ce fut le cas dernièrement avec un SDF en fauteuil roulant dont la situation ne relève manifestement ni de la justice, ni du système médical.

Dans sa déclaration de politique communale, la majorité PS/MR pour Liège indique sa volonté d'élaborer un nouveau plan de lutte contre la pauvreté. Diverses actions sont déj?* épinglées comme l'octroi de deux mois de caution locative, via le CPAS, afin de faciliter l'accès au logement ou encore la création de lits supplémentaires au sein d'un nouvel abri de nuit sachant que les structures existantes sont saturées en période hivernale. Une autre initiative pourrait faire son chemin, laquelle a été suggérée par des entrepreneurs actifs dans le transport de marchandises par voie d'eau ou qui gravitent autour. Ainsi, ?* l'instar de reconversions existantes comme des annexes d'habitation ou des bureaux, l'idée serait de récupérer des conteneurs pour les aménager de manière ?* y accueillir les SDF.

"L'idée est l?* et sera étudiée car différentes questions se posent, ?* commencer par la manière de chauffer", a précisé mardi Willy Demeyer, bourgmestre de Liège, alors que s'ouvrira le 30 mars une exposition qui explique comment le conteneur a révolutionné le transport de marchandises. Une exposition qui met également en lumière les reconversions possibles ?* travers un conteneur aménagé en salle de jeux.

Une autre question qui se pose, c'est la localisation… Un terrain susceptible d'accueillir plusieurs conteneurs ne se trouve pas ?* tous les coins de rue, encore moins au centre-ville de Liège...
