Tesla Announces Date for Fourth Quarter and Full Year 2018 Financial Results and Webcast

PALO ALTO, Calif., Jan. 18, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Tesla will post its financial results for the fourth quarter and full year ended December 31st, 2018 after market close on Wednesday, January 30th, 2019. At that time, Tesla will issue a brief advisory containing a link to the Q4 and full year 2018 Update Letter, which will be available on Tesla’s Investor Relations website. Dit vind ik erger dan een 100 dollar prijsdaling van het Tesla aandeel.

Die starship is revolutionair. 301 SS ipv composiet. En ingenieursgewijs maakt het compleet zin.

Ah ja den Musk begrijpt "iedereen wil een Tesla, niemand wil hem betalen" duidelijk veel beter.

Er gaan geruchten dat de Model S en X zelfs helemaal uitgefaseerd gaan worden.

Omdat:

Model S wordt gecannabaliseerd door AWD en P modellen van de Model 3.
Model X zal worden gecannabaliseerd door Model Y die binnenkort wordt aangekondigd.

Het is ook logisch. Een Model S 75 kWh rijdt minder ver en is minder krachtig dan een goedkopere Model 3P. Je hebt enkel wat meer luxe en een instrumentenpaneel.

Volgens ex-personeel is het duidelijk dat Tesla nooit de Model Y kan produceren als ze in Fremont ook nog S en X produceren. Geen ruimte.

Er is ook geen Model S en X "refresh team". Wat ook duidt op een eind voor het model.

"We recently announced that we are no longer taking orders for the 75 kWh version of Model S and X in order to streamline production and provide even more differentiation with Model 3. Waarom zou je een Model S 75 kopen die je pakweg 400 km ver brengt als je een Model 3 AWD kan kopen die je 540 km ver brengt. Voor minder geld.

Vergeet niet dat Tesla kopers graag "het nieuwste" willen hebben.

Volgens mij gaan ze de batterijen van de S en X ook dumpen en overschakelen naar Model 3 formaat.

Met de model 3 accucellen kan er nog wel een long range versie komen naast de nog bestaande S 100D en X 100D, geprijsd tussen basisversie en P versie.

Men hoeft enkel de data wat aan te passen in dit wensprentje, naar ~Q2-2019 :



met +400 miles zou Musk wslk tevreden zijn. (basisrange=100D = 335 miles +20% = 402 miles voor de long range of S LR)
(het batterijpack zal ook ~10 % minder wegen)

voor de X is de huidige basis 100 X: 295 miles +20% = 354 miles de X LR in theorie.

Dat de cellen formaat 18650 ooit volledig zullen verdwijnen bij Tesla zal ook van Panasonic afhangen, en natuurlijk wanneer het grotere long range pack met 21700 cellen productierijp is.

De Tesli Semi vrachtwagen (basis + long range versie) zal die ook hebben.

Alpha Hat’s data for the first couple weeks of the year shows that Tesla continues to deliver a surprisingly healthy number of vehicles in the US. As of 1/13, we believe that Tesla has delivered approximately 6,050 vehicles in the US, with ~5,000 being Model 3s. This compares to 6,800 vehicles (5,500 Model 3s) in the first 13 days of the previous quarter according to our data. While Q1 trails Q4 by 10–11% so far, we are surprised that Tesla has been able to deliver even this level of volume given the big delivery push prior to the new year and the expiry of the full federal EV tax credit.

Cracking the Code

Some of the tracker’s most avid followers on Twitter have been digging through the code to identify potential flaws in our datasets. They found one!

Three numbers that had been reported to us as owner VINs were not, in fact, valid VINs. The numbers were too high and improperly sequenced. It's rare, but we occasionally see bad VINs for a variety of reasons: typos, people who submit reservation numbers instead of VIN numbers, and the occasional prankster (we see what you're doing there VIN #420420.)

Our model had correctly excluded these VINs from our estimates and didn’t display them on our charts. However, even though the VINs were left out of the estimates, they did still have a small impact on the model. Due to a quirk in our code, the excluded VINs allowed a few of the valid VINs to be recognized in our estimates sooner than they otherwise would have.

Counterintuitively, removing the invalid VINs slightly increased some of our latest weekly production estimates by smoothing out the slope of our spotted-VIN model.

We've removed the three invalid VINs from the dataset and increased our filters for outlier VINs slightly. The net effect of these changes is to increase our total estimated Model 3 production by about 1 percent.

The three excluded VINs were able to sneak past one of our filters because of a change in our submission survey method, introduced last quarter. In the next few weeks, we’ll create a more permanent fix to the filters while we also work to create a way to breakout VINs by geography as Tesla begins its European and Asian deliveries.

Note: As some readers have pointed out, our model is almost certainly overestimating the current trajectory of Model 3 production, due to the extreme number of VINs Tesla registered with safety regulators at the beginning of the quarter (see blog post below for more detail). We expect the numbers to even out in the next few weeks, just as they did last quarter. The inherent variability in the noisy VIN data led us in October to switch our weekly estimate to a 13-week trailing average.

Het is niet omdat er 10.000 aanvragen voor een "umweltbonus" zijn dat het om 10.000 bestellingen van Tesla´s gaat.

Echt ge doet uw geloofwaardigheid geen goed door klakkeloos Tesla junk te reproduceren.
