Voor de gamers. Cyberpunk 2077 aan 60 fps speelbaar voor de kids op de achterbank. Of tijdens het bijladen op de voorste zetels...

Tesla flexes its overkill infotainment system by running “Cyberpunk 2077” at 60 fps

When Tesla formally announced the Model S Plaid in its Q4 and FY 2020 Update Letter, the company was quick to point out that company’s new flagship sedan would feature a 10-teraflop infotainment system. Musk even went on to say later that the new Model S and Model X’s infotainment system would be powerful enough to run PS5-level games.

During the Model S Plaid’s delivery event, Tesla definitely proved that there was no hyperbole when it comes to the flagship vehicles’ gaming capabilities. While showing off the car’s features, Tesla featured a segment showing the Model S Plaid running Cyberpunk 2077 in 60 fps. Attendees of the event later saw these for themselves, with some even noting that Tesla has made some gaming controllers for its flagship cars.
Ook de klassieke 12V 33 Ah loodaccu (voor verlichting, data enz...) wordt nu een veel lichtere en kleinere lithium-ion.

Bovendien is 6,9 Ah reeds voldoende (15,5 Volt).

Lithium-ion batteries are more suitable for EV applications, especially as lead-acid batteries are more advantageous to utilize with vehicles that have high currents when starting an engine. This doesn’t apply to electric vehicles, and owners have been upgrading to lithium-ion 12V batteries for some time.

Initial photos of the new lithium-ion 12V battery seem to illustrate a significant number of advantages, including size and weight. A photo from Tesla Raj shows just how compact the new battery is, leaving more space under the hood and eliminating some of the weight that was held by the previous lead-acid battery.

Looking into the specs that Tesla outlines in its new Model S owner’s manual, the low voltage battery has a rating of 6.9 amp hours, with a voltage of 15.5v. Previously, Tesla utilized a 33 amp-hour or higher battery with a 12V negative ground.

This weekend’s Hypercar Invitational at Laguna Seca was, for the most part, an opportunity for professional racecar driver Randy Pobst and Tesla tuning house Unplugged Performance to test out how their race-spec Model S Plaid performs on the track. The Model S Plaid did not disappoint, and it did not shy away from baring its fangs either. Over the course of the weekend, the modified four-door family sedan overtook some of the world’s most iconic hypercars around one of the world’s most iconic race tracks.

Ultimately, the Model S Plaid did not only prove that it was worthy of being on the same track as hypercars like the McLaren P1 and the McLaren Sienna; the race-spec family sedan showed that it could actually dominate its internal combustion-powered counterparts. This was shown in a video shared online, which featured the Model S Plaid casually overtaking the McLaren Senna and P1 with ease. Later comments from the driver of the McLaren P1 noted that the Model S Plaid was so fast, it almost felt like the other vehicles were standing still.

But perhaps the most notable observation from both Unplugged and Pobst was just how well the Model S Plaid maintained its power during its laps. At one point, Pobst remarked that the Model S Plaid, which only had 34% charge remaining then, felt just as quick as it did when it still had a full charge. In a statement to Teslarati, Unplugged Performance CEO Ben Schaffer added that the Model S Plaid’s capability to maintain its power despite its battery charge was incredibly impressive.

“With every generation of Tesla, we’ve experienced significant progress in sustainable power delivery and thermal capacity. In simple terms, this means your can drive faster (and) longer. The new Model S Plaid continues this trajectory of improvement, and during our shakedown runs, the car illustrated almost no perceptible power loss as the battery state of charge decreased. Our driver Randy Pobst said the car felt just as fast at 35% SOC as at 100%,” he said.

The Tesla Model S Plaid is poised to take on the Pikes Peak Hill Climb later this year.

There are very few times where one can justify traveling 136 mph while driving on a mountain at 14,000 feet. Legendary racecar driver Randy Pobst’s recent test run at the upper section of Pikes Peak using his Unplugged Model S Plaid was certainly one of them. And as could be seen in a video of his run, the Model S Plaid is truly a remarkable, frighteningly fast machine.

UnpluggedTesla

Dark Helmet FTW! UP Tesla Model S Plaid is getting dialed in at @PPIHC and and so far has set the fastest time on this section! 2:40!!! Alien technology unleashed!
Great job @RandyPobst!

Turd Gobbler • an hour ago
last year's overall champion did that section in 2:46, for reference.
